This was our first time dinning at the Roof Terrace before attending a show downstairs and I would have to say we really enjoyed... our visit. This is the perfect place for a nice romantic dinner date the ambiance and views are absolutely amazing and thefoods not bad either???????????? Although it was a little pricey it was still worth the price of admission. I was told thattheir Sunday brunch is amazing and I can?t wait to experience that next. So once again if your looking to enjoy a nice dinnerand a show at The Kennedy Center the Roof Terrace is the spot!! Read more

I went to the restaurant prior to watching a show at Kennedy Center. ???? The hostesses were chatting around when I get there... around 5:15PM. ?????????? After being seated, the waiter who served us was wonderful. ???????? He is very thoughtful andsolicitous. ???????? The setting of the restaurant was graceful. However, I could not see Potomac River through thefloor-to-ceiling windows because of the wide patio outside which blocked my vision. The view was still beautiful forsure. ???????? All food was well prepared. ??????????Crab soup: soooo delicious! It was a little bit salty for me. But shouldbe perfect for majority of people. ?????????? Pecorino & Truffle Pommes Fries: they were served hot! So they really tastedsoooo wonderful! I I love the crunchy exterior and a light, fluffy interior. In addition, the dip was amazingly good! I?d liketo give it 6 starts if I can. ???????? Sixty South Salmon: it was pretty good. The texture tasted so tender and juicy, but alittle fishy. Otherwise, it would be perfect and rated with 5 stars. ???????? Maryland Rockfish: similar to the salmonmentioned above. Tasted very good. But not impressive. ?????????? Champagne twist: felt really good at the first sip! Crisp andrefreshing with a bit lemon flavor. It was a bit sweet and sour and bitter at the end. I like it! ???????? Toast to Freedom: itwas good for sure. But not amazingly good. ???????? The coffee and tea were OK. Read more

Beautiful setting that is super convenient prior to a show but the prices more reflect the location than the quality of the... food. Some dishes were very good, the fresh ricotta was excellent, the truffle fries were tasty, the prawns were good, and thecarpaccio was decent but lacking any complexity of flavor. Other dishes not so much, the grilled peaches were a good idea butpoorly executed and very hard, unripe, and barely grilled. The lobster mac and cheese was somewhat dry and we asked for a platewith no lobster for my little one and I think they just tried to pull out any large pieces of lobster but you could still tasteit and it had more fish flavor than lobster and still charged full price $19. The chicken main course has good flavor but verydry and sides were limp. The biggest disappointment was the charcuterie plate for $35 that had three small pieces of grocerystore quality cheese and then three slices each of salami, prosciutto and another meat. Costco has better platters and at $35 itwas very disappointing. Decent selection of bourbons but wine list was a little pricey and the mojito we got was flat. If I goback very likely I'll just stop at the bar and get a drink and maybe some fries before the show but very unlikely to go back fora full dinner. Simply not worth the cost. Ended up being $500 for a party of five including a ten year old and many only orderedappetizers. Read more

A solid experience one would expect from a prestigious venue like The Kennedy Center. Tremendous ambiance and service. The views... from up there are spectacular and enrich the experience of an evening outing. The food was delicious, but not really stand outexceptional. Overall with everything considered, an incredible place that's perfect for a date night. Read more

I have never been to the Kennedy Center and had no idea that there even was a restaurant. What a very nice dining experience.... Santo our waiter was very knowledgeable with the food and drinks. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Even if you are not going toan event I highly recommend checking it out. Read more

RTR is a pretty good place for dinner before a show at the Kennedy Center. The restaurant has the classic aesthetic of the... Kennedy Center with beautiful views from the terrace outside the restaurant. The staff were friendly enough though our waiterdidn't talk with us too much. Food service was quick which is to be expected for those going to performances. The quality of thefood is okay. All of our entrees were hot but just okay taste wise. Pretty good selection for vegetarians and the fish choicesare nice too! We'll come back and try it again as we go to the KC often. Read more

We?ve been here a number of times over the years though this was the first visit in two years. The Terrace has upped their game.... My lamb chops and wife?s fillet would go over well in any finer local venue. The service was prompt and professional and basedaround our show time. Terrace maintains most of its vintage (60?s) vibe which is what I like about it. Read more
