Excellent sushi, one of the best in the city and in the east coast. 20 piece omakase is filling and covers all of the premier... cuts of fish. Service is friendly and attentive. Read more

ALWAYS SIT AT THE BAR! Never sit in the dining room, that is just not the proper way to experience an omakase. This was our... first time at Sushi Nakazawa and we were ecstatic. However, I find that recently, omakase sushi changed. The nigiris are notwhat they used to be. They're adding "innovative" toppings, like karashi (Japanese mustard) or yuzu mayo, which I findunnecessary and disturbs the true taste of the fish. Thankfully, they didn't mess around with the aji, tunas and uni. Nopictures of the sushi were taken because I was too busy stuffing my face with it. The sake/whiskey list is quite extensive butfor a pretty penny. I had the Nanbu Bijin sake and it was too sweet for my liking. But if you're a fan of Takatsuru, you'll findsome highly sought after whiskeys here. NOTE: regular omakase comes with 20ish nigiri. They have a SUPER omakase for double theprice ($300ish), where they serve cooked dishes (some topped with that giant truffle). Read more

From the moment you step in, you?re experiencing everything you expected to see for omakase. The server, chefs are well... knowledge in the food they are serving. Each piece travels miles to get to the table. Nice ambience, clean, well presented. Thechef is friendly as well and noticed he would always serve the lady first, it?s those little details would make me want to visitagain! Read more

Sushi that melts in your mouth. Initial server was a bit snobby, but thankfully the others were better. Restaurant?s entrance is... also a bit difficult to find. High price point, but likely the best sushi I?ve had in DC. Read more

I've gone twice so I tried both the counter and the dining room and both times were fantastic. The counter is definitely the way... to go but if you can't get a seat, the dining room is still incredible you just lose the interaction with the chef. Every biteis delicious and perfectly seasoned. I will definitely be back! Read more

This place was just jaw dropping. The sashimi was just out of this world and the service was impeccable. Each dish was just a... plethora of flavors and so different from the other. Each piece was carefully laid out to be different from each other and madesure no conflicting tastes. One thing about the service that was amazing is that they noticed I was left handed so theyreorganized the dishes for me so I'd start from the left while my right handed friends would start from their right. That levelof service is next level. This is a Michelin star restaurant and it was 100% worth. It's a pretty penny tho expect to pay atminimum $300 per person for this amazing experience. If I could afford it I'd come here all the time ???? Read more

The restaurant has most of the qualities of any other Michelin star restaurant I've been too from food quality to service. The... one knock I had was for the atmosphere. Its a small space and got really loud when it was full which took away from theexperience. Read more
