Pretty solid place for tacos, nice staff, and chill vibe. It's hard to find decent Mexican food on the east coast, and in the... DMV it's pretty much all Central American cuisine that you do find. Habanero is welcome in that regard, it has a good assortmentof Mexican dishes, including some of the more exotic meats and preparations you won't find in other places around here. I had 4tacos. I was hungry yes but not that hungry, they were just super tiny and pricey ($3-4 each) for what you get. You can finisheach one in a few bites so it's about a dollar a bite. The carne asada (steak) and the al pastor (pork) were definitely thestandouts, both seasoned well and super flavorful. The chorizo was surprisingly not greasy but lacking in flavor, wouldn'trecommend it here. Their pollo (grilled chicken) was completely forgettable but saved only by the salsas. Speaking of thesalsas, both their salsa verde and salsa roja were both delicious. Very fresh. The verde had that familiar tanginess and wasgreat on the steak taco. Their roja packed a little heat and had the nice smokey finish. Good on the pollo. I'll be back to trymore things on the menu. Read more

Pretty decent food and good service. Please do not waste your money on the margarita. You will be paying for juice. I had the... birrira quesadilla . I am surprised it was made with corn tortilla, never had it that way. Would have been better if made withflour. The chips & guac were good (not pictured.) Read more

Came for a Cinco de Mayo lunch feast and it was excellent. Memelas, tacos, and sope were all delicious. Meats were tender and... flavorful (al pastor was particularly great). Washed it down with a glass from their excellent mezcal list. Great spot! Read more

Among the best Mexican places in DC. Not only is the place colorful and plays Latin music which contributes to providing a... folkloric experience, but the food and the drinks are absolutely tasty. Besides the tacos, the tortas and the chilaquiles arehighly recommended dishes. Read more

I?m back in my city and I couldn?t wait to hit up Taqueria Habanero! I?ve missed it since moving away in 2019. I walked in and... was shocked to see the new renovations! Loved it. If you?re looking for good, traditional, closest to the real thing Mexicanfood, look no further. I used to pop in and order 3 tacos and 1 sope and was never disappointed. This time around, I ordered theChilaquiles and was so happy I did. This is a good place for a small group. Also the drinks are good! Everything from Tequila toMezcal. Read more

As you all can see from my reviews, I love Spanish food! This was a cool spot! Very limiting seating and a lil congested! I sat... at the bar with my husband! The margaritas were super good but they kept wanting to put foam on the top! I can do without! I?mnot sure what it?s for but they have a whole mixer that they whipped up! I tried all of the tacos and surprisingly the pollotacos were the best! I love that it wasn't pulled pollo because sometimes that meat is dry. But I like that I could see the chefmaking my tacos and they came out in a timely manner. This place is a little bit far from where I live but I wanted to trysomething new. Read more

I ordered chicken mole that was pretty good. Their menu is not extensive except if you want a fancy drink. The waitress could... have been more friendly but their may have been a language barrier. Read more
