Stayed here for our mini honeymoon over the weekend. Had a great stay, rooms were very nice, quiet and the beds were comfy.... Staff at the front desk were very helpful. We ate in the General Store Restaurant 4 times over the course of the weekend andthe food and service were awesome. We had Ethan as our server for both dinners and he was fantastic! Also, free cooked to orderbreakfast every morning was great! Will definitely stay here again next time we are in town Read more

My husband ended our trip to Canada with a 2 night stay at the Hume Hotel in Nelson and it was the perfect way to end the trip.... The hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly. It has been beautifully updated (since it's 100 years old) and is very wellkept. The food is also very good. I would highly recommend staying here. Read more

Not where I wanted to stay. I was working in Castlegar.... But glad I got to. Food in the bar was GOOD and so was the service.... Rooms are clean and completely updated. Loved the very quiet, efficient heating/cooling. Staff were super helpful and friendly.Looking forward to going back when I can enjoy it. Read more

More than satisfied with my stay. I'd recommend this hotel. From the more than, friendly staff, cleanliness, beautiful rooms and... inviting atmosphere. Breakfast was everything I would have ordered at another fine restaurant. It was on the house. Eggs, sourdough toast, potato's fryed, 2 sausage and bacon with a cup of coffee. Later, I will get a hair cut at the spa, located on thesecond floor. I decided to extend my stay another day, it is exactly what I was looking for. I will be back. Read more

One of my favourite places to stay in Nelson. I manage to stay here about once a year. It's expensive so it's an indulgence -... but I never regret it. It's a lovely, old hotel right in the centre of Nelson. Just about everything is an easy walk. Thehotel itself is an old building that has been updated but still retains its character. There are imperfections but they justadd to the charm. I've enjoyed the Library Bar, restaurant and outdoor patio. I haven't tried the Spa or the nightclub. Theyeven have dedicated, motorcycle parking! Read more

So lovely for a historic hotel. The rooms are clean, and have been slightly updated. The beds are comfortable. Right in the... middle of all the action, so if the restaurants attached to the hotel aren?t your thing, you can wander downtown is seconds andgrab a bite to eat or shop. The water is only a 5-10 minute walk away. Awesome place to stay for your Nelson vacation. Read more

We loved, loved, loved this hotel, and can't wait to return! The staff were so friendly and so willing to chat about the... interesting history of the hotel and surrounding area of Nelson. It was almost like staying in a museum, the walls were coveredin photos of the early hotel history. They were dog friendly and were always eager to fuss over our poodles. They wereknowledgeable about local history and places to visit to and eat. There was a outside patio bar attached to the hotel, which wasdog friendly. The food was great and the staff fabulous! We had dinner there both nights. We stayed in the Juliet suite, whichwas a very large room with a great view, large tub and shower, with a beautiful sitting area and king size bed. We willdeffinetly be back to this hotel! Read more

Friendly and welcoming staff. Well stocked liquor boutique. Delicious food served in each of their 3 restaurants that also allow... any atmosphere for any occasion. Historic charm that's been well maintained. With the best nachos in town (in my opinion) whatmore could you ask for! Read more
