Today I went there with my family for dinner and it was our first time there. I can’t describe how much the food was amazing... and the atmosphere was great. Our host was James , he was so delight and nice with the kids, he even gave them surprises afterdinner. They were so happy and we all enjoyed every bite of our delicious meals. Horrible place. Short of it: bland tasting food and drinks, and atrocious service. Never, ever going back. Long story: Arrived... around 11:15 to have lunch with my MIL and 2 year old son. No one was there to greet us until a few minutes had passed. And eventhen the male server hardly said a word to us. Didn't ask us if my son needed a booster seat. When we sat down, we realized hehad given us breakfast menus... Breakfast ends at 11am according to their website and menu! When the waitress came to greet usat our table, we pointed out the menu mistake and asked for a booster seat. My MIL ordered a black tea and I ordered a Pepsi todrink. Her black tea arrived with just barely enough water in the pot for a single cup of tea and the tea bag was a decaf blacktea. No milk was offered, so she had to ask for that. My Pepsi was very watery tasting and hardly carbonated. The food. Bland. Iordered the Thai Red Curry. It does not look like the picture in the menu at all! There was no sauce, no cashews like described,and absolutely no flavour. Not even the rice. So I took a few bites and pushed it off to the side. The waitress didn't come tocheck on us at all. The male server walked past our table a few times and didn't check in on us either, when obviously there wasan issue. Seems like there were only the 2 of them serving (and there weren't many people there). The waitress swept the floor,walked past us to do so, and still didn't check on us. Then I hear the male server tell her that she needs to do a better job ofwatching the bar because it's filling up. Meanwhile, my MIL and son are done eating and now we're waiting for the bill... Themale server walked by again, to serve coffee to the other table across the room from us. (I must note that he was carrying thecoffee pot very casually, and like with his arm fully extended down, so the pot was below his waist which in a medical field isconsidered not sterile.) GREAT PLACE FOR BREAKFAST!!! Hard Stones Grill is a great place for breakfast. There is a large selection of breakfast menu... items, ranging from the usual egg selections; but also including crepes, waffle, fruit, and specialty items like tuna, duck, smoked meat, and smoked salmon. Today I had a crepe wrap, and my friend had a smoked salmon eggs benedict. Both choices weredelicious. A shout out to our server, Lloyd, who was very professional, courteous, and attentive....with a nice smile. Exactlywhat you need first thing in the morning. Keep up the great work Hard Stones Grill. We thought we would have liked this place more. The service was quite slow. We ordered coffee and water, and the waitress... intially forgot the water. It took probably 15 min to get the coffee. The coffee tasted good. We ordered the eggs benedict andclassic breakfast (2 sausages plus poached eggs). I asked for the poached medium eggs in the benedict but it was soft poachedinstead. The eggs benedict tasted good though. My husband thought the sausage was too greasy. The home fries were not the best,but not bad. I had to wait for tires to be installed at Costco and found this amazing hidden gem in Ottawa. Karen served us, and it was... fantastic from start to finish. The menu selection was a delight to choose from, such fusion and variety. Was a challenge tomake a choice. Ashley is the chef and takes cooking as an art. Excellent presentation and quality of food. Very friendly service. The cooks are brand new and this probably explains the hiccups we experienced. ???? The components of the... salmon meal did not make sense. The personal pizza was very delicious as was the Fajita Steak Bowl. The Buddha bowl with searedtuna was nice however garlic dressing was not a good idea. A balsamic vinaigrette would suit this salad meal much better (and itis offered on their menu!!) Music is sourced from a local radio station which became annoying listening to commercials. Would not go here again, and would give 0 stars if I could. Waited 25 minutes for two coke and a water , and he had no idea... which one was diet. My husband's wrap had minimal chicken, and few fries (and came out 5 minutes before the rest of the meals),my.meal came out incorrect and had to be remade and my son's fetttuccini was greasy with burnt chicken. Spoke with a managerand while apologetic, she came over once and didn't do anything obvious to fix the problem - maybe she spoke to our waiter? For$100 it was a waste of money. Read more
