Well, I can't hold the brutal temperature outside against them, so instead I'll praise them for remaining open and providing... some heaters so that we could at least try to enjoy a beer somewhere other than home. Sorry to say, I made a mess of the patiotable we were at by spilling our two beers 3 times in rapid succession (I kicked the table trying to take a picture, and knockedthem down faster than I could pick them up.. lol). So the "review" part of this is that everyone there at least had a sense ofhumor about everything. Sorry for the frozen beer everywhere, but we made a little memory. :) Read more
Note: I don't post reviews often, so take this is as something I was pretty fired up about. ------ I was on my way home after... work, and wanted to grab some food for my girlfriend and I. As I passed through Bell's Corners, I remembered that there was alocal pub nearby which sold pizza. After years of thinking, "Hey, Mort's! Yeah that's one of the dive bars where I want tosomeday stop in with a few of my friends, grab some drinks, and have a good time at", I decided to take the plunge and see iffood would be decent. Was craving pizza, and heard decent reviews about it, so decided, "let's do it!". First mistake... Let'sget one thing out of the way about Mort's, and I mean this with all honesty and sincerity.. The Karen running the show/barhere, needs to go ASAP! As soon as I showed up to place an order, and she opened her mouth, I knew right away that this wasn'tgoing to go over well. She was rude, inattentive, and seemed like she didn't have the time of day for anyone. Literally, one ofthe most unpleasant people I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. She even had the nerve to be berate customers who triedto enter the bar to use the washroom. Absolutely baffled. If Jon Taffer saw this old maid treating people the way she was, hewould've had a sh!t fit and she'd be gone with the quickness. With that said... I tried to brush it off, hoping that theprevious reviews regarding the pizza would make this a better experience. Second mistake.. Honestly, it was nothingspecial. Just your typical "two for one" chain-style pizza. Bland sauce and tasteless crust. For the price of the pizza anddipping sauce ($30+), I was amazed how they've gotten away for so long for charging an arm and a leg for it. Anyway, asmentioned from the jump, I don't post reviews often. I figured though that I should let others know that they should avoid thisplace at all costs. Not worth the disappointment. Read more
Love this place. Great service nice outdoor patio and yummy pub food. The pizza is unique with lots of toppings and top notch.... Good bang for your buck. Read more
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be ordering pizza from there again. Last 2 experiences have left me wondering what's happened... to the once, in my opinion, best pizza in the west end. My most recent experience was disappointing, the pizza seemed half asthick as it used to be and the infused oil i was so looking forward to drizzling over the pie was forgotten. I mean one wouldthink after leaving a 30+% tip, someone would double check the order before leaving for the delivery.... Read more
Delicious food, and such friendly, generous, and warm owners. Mort and Marie are wonderful, and they've created a great sense of... community, even during Covid. They are open for take-out and delivery during Covid, and their pizza is our go-to on a weeklybasis!! Read more
We love the subs here. This is a little hidden gem of a place... because...it used to be Fat Albert's some years ago. Now if you... ask for it, then you can get the old Sub menu, and they make them friggin awesome, and they taste exactly the way they did 20years ago when food was good. They also still give the deal, buy three get one free deal, so that's pretty nice. Keep up thegreat work. Read more
