Taste was bland, like the service, with zero regard for customers. Asked for no dairy and halfway through my barria I realized... cheese was in all of them. I had high hopes for this place. The location is super convenient however I often find myself searching the convenience store... refrigerated section to avoid buying breakfast or lunch from here. I have never known any other "tex-mex" restaurant that isincapable of making a decent bean and cheese taco. I have reluctantly given them multiple chances to redeem themselves thinkingthat I have just been unlucky the 5 or 6 times that I've bought their food. Today I was amazed because not only did the beansoup that they poured onto a tortilla taste burnt, the bean halfs were almost crunchy. I've never experienced something likethat before. If you?re in New Braunfels and have never visited a Smokin? Joe?s anywhere else, this is an absolute must-have. The Notorious... P.I.G., Birria, and Brisket and Egg breakfast tacos (not pictured) are incredible. They?re worth a routine visit or anoccasional visit or a first time visit alone - in other words it?s worth the trip to this part of New Braunfels. Select Stop hasa winner here and I hope Smokin? Joe?s remains a vendor here. The Notorious P.I.G. has everything: pork, brisket and sausage.The bun is absolutely marvelous - cheddar jalapeño buns are oversized and the sandwich itself is a whole meal and then some forsure! I enjoyed this sandwich so much. The Birria is indescribable. I cannot say I?ve had anything anywhere like this. Thetaste is a mix of incomprehensible heat from a spice I suppose! That?s one way to describe this, right? It?s just a uniqueflavor that?s difficult to pin down. Yes I know the recipes have got to be out there. But I enjoy the mystery of this heat andflavor combo.
