Ramen was fine but the don buri is a scam. That is not my problem though, I had a "conv. fee" which I have not seen once in my... past visits in other restaurants. Waiter did not say anything about it and I did not notice until I left. I paid through cashbtw. Read more

I love to try new ramen spots and I was so glad to discover this new spot near me! Ambiance - bold graphics on the walls and... modern decor give this place a cool feel, perfectly fits into New Brunswick night-life culture - plenty of seating Service -friendly and attentive staff - food came out relatively quickly considering that we placed so many orders Drinks: - ShisoCucumber Sour- perfectly tart, strong, sweet and spicy! I love a tart, gin based cocktail and this one was delicious. Thepresentation was beautiful as well - Kobe Refresher- beautiful presentation! This drink was a bit too tart for me and I justwish the tea flavor came out a bit more Big Bites Out of all these dishes, the bao buns were my favorite! nothing gets betterthan soft flavorful pork belly in between a soft bun. I'll definitely be ordering this again. Cucumbers were refreshing anddelicious! Shishito pepper were a bit disappointing because the pepper were slightly over cooked and the sauce was hardened onto the plate before I could dip in the pepper. Main: The Chef's special ramen had great balance between the saltiness andslight kick of heat from the shoyu base. I Love that Yu Choy was included! I haven't eaten Yu Choy with ramen before and I waspleasantly surprised that it added some brightness to the dish. Also very glad that the soft and flavorful pork belly madeanother appearance in my bowl. I only wish that the portion was larger. For the price of the bowl, I'd expect a larger size thatwould be more filling. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and enjoyed some great conversations. I'm looking forward to see what otherdishes I can try at Ani Ramen next! Read more

The food itself was the definition of ?mid.? The shoyu ramen tastes the same as the shrimp and wonton noodle soup you can get... from costco?s frozen section. The chicken karaage tasted pretty good but we only got 5-6 pieces of chicken? The food isextremely expensive and not worth the hype. The atmosphere is nice and the service is quick but the quality and the quantity ofthe food is not worth the price point. Read more

I?ve been to the Ani Ramen location (several times) in Newark and this place is no different! It?s great to see the consistency... throughout the chain; this includes the service, the food, the environment. Today, Kevin and a woman with a verybeautiful-unique name helped us and they were so wonderful! Big fan of Ani Ramen overall, and this location now too! Read more

EDIT: I dropped this to 3 stars from 4 stars because 3/4 of us were charged for eggs in our ramen that we thought were... complimentary. The server asked if we were ok with our pork belly- we said yes. Then he asked everyone who ordered a ramen ifthey wanted the egg, but I don't remember exactly how he phrased it. The way he phrased it seemed to us that it is part of theramen, especially after asking us if we were ok with the pork belly, which was at no extra cost. The egg costs $2, which Iwould've been extra unpleased about if I was still in college. When he asked if I wanted the egg, I said "no egg, sub enoki."Any server knows that sub means substitute. He should have told me that the egg/enoki was an extra cost at that point BECAUSE itisn't a substitute if I am straight up paying for that enoki (enoki ended up being $2). The manager was watching, so themanagement team should be aware of this issue. If we all wanted to pay for eggs in our ramen when we ordered initially, wewould've asked for it. ORIGINAL: I ordered Chicken Kara Age (5 piece order for $9) Pork Belly Bao (2 Baos for $9), Miso SakeWings (4 or $10), chef special Ramen (it?s half shoyu and half Tom Yum, it doesn?t change seasonally) and a Tokyo Sour-alcoholic bev. My friends got Vegan Ramen, Chef Special Ramen, and Spicy Miso Ramen. Pork Belly Bao: 8/10, yummy but not thebest I?ve had. It?s more ?worth it? than the kara age. Price is comparable to other places for this dish. Chicken Kara Age:7/10, small portions for $9! It?s also not the best Kara Age I?ve had, so I don?t think I?d order it again if I came back. Thedipping sauce that comes with it tastes like Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and spice. I liked the sauce, not too sure what?s init. The Chef Special Ramen: 6/10, I?m just disappointed because it doesn?t taste like Tom Yum at all. I was sold on it becauseit was said to taste like shoyu/soy sauce and tom yum. I LOVEEE Tom Yum but it mostly tasted like soy sauce to me. Tom Yum is Read more

I?m giving it 4 stars because the Buns and the Wings were just glorious but everything else was disappointing. 1. The tables are... tiny, they had to take our dishes to make place for others so we had to eat fast so they can remove them. 2. I had the ShoyuRamen and my husband had the Chef?s Specials. Mine was a bowl full of soy sauce with lots of scallions? the only difference withmy husband?s is that his ramen had lemon. (As you can see in the pictures they look just the same) 3. I have never been in arestaurant where they charge you THE EGG on your ramen. ($2 each) (you can see it on the check) 4. For being a ?Ramen?restaurant having only 5 types of them is just wrong, I thought maybe they had only that amount because they all are amazing andneed no others but it wasn?t the case. Overall, I wouldn?t return, only to pickup wings and buns, but that?s it. Thank youGoogle Maps for insisting on trying this place! Read more
