The breakfast buffet has just disappeared without any notice or explanation, for two days now!

I was born and raised in and around New Brunswick. It is a city which I love above all others. Over the last few years I have... made several unsuccessful attempts to dine at Christopher's, simply from not being able to determine if they were serving or notfrom their poorly designed website. Recently tried again and their voice mail reservation message is from Valentine'sDay....LoL. This is June, that was February. When i mentioned it to the hotel front desk they said they've mentioned torestaurant staff countless times, so what gives?? If you guys wanna play in the big leagues, given the AMAZING resources youhave directly across the street you need to have way more attention to simple detail. Breakfast buffet is tasty but literally the friendliest buffet staff I’ve ever encountered

BEWARE! This restaurant is under new management with a completely different menu which has little resemblance to what you will... find on their website or others. This review seems to be the first since 2020, and I think it is safe to ignore any reviewsbefore 2022. Big changes for a little restaurant with no public notice. (There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for not having an updatedmenu on their website!) BEWARE that menu options did are not that many. Of the three (3? - Really!) appetizers on the menu, onewas not available and the other was a basket of fries (which is hardly an appetizer!) Entree choices were just similarly limitedto 3 different salads. pizza, or burgers (served with those "appetizing" fries!) That's it. What we ordered was good, but withfew options. BEWARE that I and some others before me found the chairs to be less comfortable for eating than for lounging. Theyare probably great chairs for a bar, but a poor choice for a restaurant. (I usually eat closer to the table.) BEWARE that ourservice was provided solely by one bartender who had no other assistance. He mostly did an adequate job, despite beingovertaxed. For a burger joint, it was certainly not "fast" food. Had the restaurant been busier, I'm not certain that theservice would have been at all satisfactory. BEWARE that a 18.5% gratuity is automatically added to your bill without anymention of that fact on the menu. That amount is not unreasonable, but it seems unfair not to make customers aware of thispolicy before ordering. I would have awarded 4 STARS on the basis of the food quality alone, which is the main feature I wantin a restaurant. We had garlic parmesan chicken wings for an appetizer and burgers for our entrees. (I'll bet you could haveguessed that from the menu options.) Horrible. Ate there before a show. Waited 15 minutes and no one came over. When we waved to a server she shot us a dirty look... and said I'll be there in a minute. We waited 5 more minutes and I then walked to the bar and asked the bartender to put in myorder. We wanted to get to the theater on time so ordered burgers. They were expensive and nothing special. Our dinner was just awful. We made a reservation for a Wednesday night at the restaurant for 6 people. We arrived and the... restaurant was closed so we had to sit in the bar. The server had no idea a table of 6 was coming in. It was at least 10minutes before our server came over. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. The tuna tar tar was ok. Unremarkable butnothing bad about it. The mushroom bisque was fine. The charcuterie board was woefully overpriced ($15) for what we got. Forentrees we got one salmon, one pasta, two steaks, one cheesesteak and one burger. The salmon and pasta were fine. The twosteaks came out cold with a big slice of butter on top, which was not melted, because the meat (and plates) were cold. Thecheesesteak was nearly inedible as the bread was so hard that it could not be bitten into. The burger was asked to be cookedmedium and came out nearly raw - after it was cut there was blood all over the bottom or the plate and the bun was blood soaked. We sent the steaks back to be heated and the burger back to be refired. The burger came back rare, but at that point we saw nopoint in sending it back a second time. The accompaniments that came with the cheesesteak (onion rings) and burger (sweet potatoand regular fries) were the bright spot in this bleak meal. The manager came out with apologies as did the server. To hercredit the server seemed overwhelmed but very pleasant. I do not know if the quality in the restaurant is better but I cannotstress enough to stay away from the bar. Coming here will be a complete waste of money and you will, very likely, leave hungry. 1 star is gift, and only because I can't give less. Went with a work function tonight and this was in my top 3 of worst meals... I've ever had, and that's only because I haven't felt sick yet. The chicked was over-cooked, zero flavor, and rubbery. The "rice pilaf" or whatever it was served on was inedible. The steaks were all cooked wrong, tough, had no flavor, and onecolleague said it tasted like liver. One person never got her food...she was the luckiest one. None of the 16 or so people inmy group ate their full meal, half at best. The hotel and restaurant should be ashamed and embarrassed of what they served. Afull refund should be given with an apology. I went here b/c their Burger was raved about in NJ Mag. Be prepared to be OVERCHARGED for a bland burger. In all seriousness,... 5-Guys makes a better burger. I honestly do not know how their burger won #2 spot as best burger in NJ. Bland is Bland, whatelse can I say. Not even the toppings that dressed the burger helped. Let me not forget to mention that they burned the friesthey served me. This really makes you question the credibility of their chefs. They should have never served those fries. Forwhat I paid, I expected a much better meal. This is supposed to be one of the higher end places to eat in New Brunswick, I suredid not get my money's worth. Here's my advice, if you want to eat good food GUARANTEED and pay a FAIR price, go to Old ManRafferty's. Don't waste your $$ and time here. 2 stars b/c the place is clean, food looked cleaned, service was on the lowerend of average, and price was not inline w/ what you are service and food.
