The food is good but their signs say they close to certain hour but the kitchen is already closed 2 hours before. They run out... from some products really often, my guesg is that they had really limited stock. Personal is really kind and good. Read more

I wish the food was even a little bit as good as the service. It's definitely not worth the money you pay. We got a few... breakfast items that sounded good on paper, but the egg sandwich tasted like they got it from the Dunkin across the street (andthey forgot the bacon) and the omelette was burned. The breakfast bowl was mainly unseasoned kale and sadness. Can't go wrongwith the pastries though. Read more

We have been coming to the New Canaan location for years for their fresh bread and pastries. However, the last 10-12 months the... breads have been stale and inedible. My wife and I last visit was to purchase bread. I asked the manager if the bread was freshsince it felt like a rock. She replied that the breads are made daily fresh. Yet again, we had a slice of $10 loaf of bread fordinner that day and the bread went straight into the trash. My last visit at this place! Read more

I am very familiar with Le Pain from the days that I used to go to NYC for work. My expectations were shattered at the New... Canaan location. I sat myself. The waitress finally came over and had to struggle to ask me if I'd like some coffee. She tookmy simple coffee order which took about 15 mins to get it. Meanwhile I could see her at the coffee bar making her ownalready-made coffee better and in no rush to bring me mine (after I said how much I needed coffee!). Then finally after takinga few sips of her own coffee, she brought mine over. The other waitresses looked miserable as I wanted to get their attentionbut I said, why bother. I then ordered. I got my food (which was very good) in a timely manner. I did notice my waitresssitting at a table and eating a hardboiled egg. I thought that was a bit strange as she clearly was not on break. I saw onetable get up and leave as not a single staff person came over with a menu or to greet them. Anyway, this location has a lot ofobvious issues - mostly starting with the staff. They all seemed to be walking around with grudges and hating to be there. Hopefully the issues will be corrected as I do love the vibe of Le Pain restaurants and I'm happy there's one nearby withouthaving to go to NY. Read more

We visited the Philip Johnson Glass House and stopped at Le Pain Quotidien after our tour for lunch. The food was great and the... staff was pleasant and helpful. We loved the mini pancakes! Read more

The absolute worst dining experience. Impossible to get a servers attention and once you do total attitude like they’re doing... you a favor. Saw 2 tables walk out due to no attention, one asked if it was self service. Order was wrong, took forever, servernever checked or even took dirty plates, couldn’t even get a coffee refill. Eye rolling among most of staff, who seem to havea hostile attitude toward New Canaan clientele. Don’t work here if you resent the citizens. I’ve never experienced attitudeslike this in my life. New Canaan has plenty of hospitable restaurants, we don’t need you! Warning, stay away, you’ll onlycome out aggravated as so many of these reviews state. Yet somehow they maintain a 3.8 rating. Hmmm? Somebody is “cooking thebooks”!! Read more

Very yummy meal! Everything tasted delicious and very fresh. Decent prices, even though portions are not huge they are very... filling. Loved the lemonade. Quick service. Good vegan/vegetarian options. I’ll even tell you a secret—we ate rightbefore closing and the person working the bakery was so kind as to give everyone I was dining with a free pastry! Wouldcertainly eat here again. Read more

Sad service at a usually good chain. We are fans of La Pain and usually have a good experience. This branch is decent during the... week, but avoid the weekend staff. Rude, dismissive and no regard for our Covid concerns. Mixing our soups around when we askedfor them to be served warm not cold. And lowering her mask to eat with her hands while wrapping up cutlery, no regard for oursafety. We returned the cold soups after they said they just microwaved them. And didn’t reserve from a warm pot. They Avotoast had the saddest portion of Avo we have ever seen from the chain restaurant. Image attached. Weekend staff just proved thatthe B- team doesn’t get the win. So sad. Please avoid here on the weekend. Read more
