They treat their staff terribly. There is serious favoritism with the staff and it shows. I saw one short haired bruinette girl... running the ENTIRE restraunt by herself while the rest of the staff was smoking outside back in June. Absolutely terribleestablishment. Read more
Only ordering from kiosks now. No customer service. 18 of 20 tables were dirty, along with the pop area and every trashcan... location. The floors weren't swept. In general the store was filthy. The food when it came out was placed on two trayswithout any indication as to what was what. That's no big deal, except 5 of the 6 meals were double cheeseburgers in some formor another, and the toppings didn't line up with what was ordered. Yes, we compared the receipt to the orders and 4 werewrong. I always loved steak n shake but sadly if they are set up like this with the kiosk instead of customer service, thiswill be my last visit. I wish I could give zero stars. This place gave us cold fries, tried to tell me she already gave me my milkshake and upon... leaving I noticed I didn?t even get a receipt. Didn?t want to be a Karen so I just shut my mouth and went about my day. We weretraveling from ohio? half hour later I realize we need gas and guess what?s missing? My credit card. I ended up calling to seeif they had it. They acted super weird asking my name and asking me to bring my ID? I?m like how many credit cards do they havethere? Maybe get a new cashier? Visiting from Indy and thought I would stop for lunch. It was about 2pm. Took forever to get food that I ordered on kiosk. No... retro feel anymore. Couldn't find a clean table out of all the empty tables available! So sad that no one cares anymore. They even wanted you to tip on the kiosk! Read more
Ordered on the kiosk, get drinks, go to grab a booster seat for my 10 month old and it?s disgusting. I wipe it down, try to look... for a clean booth and there isn?t one. Every single Booth was dirty. So I wiped that down. The floor was nearly all black andlooked like it had never been mopped or polished. Order is called out quick. I have three older kids that all ordered slightlydifferent burgers. Every single burger was wrong. All three asked for tomatoes, only one got it. Two asked for no cheese, allcame with cheese. All asked for no onions, one came with onion. Fries were cold. I had to ask for two of my kids strawberrymilkshakes. One was 3/4 full and the other was overflowing. I?ve worked in the food business for five years as a manager and wasblown away to see such horrific service/workplace cleanliness. Does the area manager not come out and inspect/food inspections?Don?t waste your time going there and I hope corporate fires everyone there. Read more
I don't mind the fact that they did away with the wait staff or even that I have to order on a kiosk now but every time I come... here anymore it is the filthiest restaurant I've ever been to. Out of 21 tables and booths only 3 of them were clean enough toconsider sitting at and even then we wiped the table down because it seemed barely touched by a dirty rag. I can't even describethe floors and bathroom without expletives. If this is ok with health inspectors we need new health inspectors. I wish thephotos really showed how gross it really is. Read more
This was one of our worst experiences with Steak ?n Shake. Just got home from Drive Thru and we caught a missing cup of cheese... already before we left the window so that?s the first mistake. No biggie. Then one of my daughter hotdogs had ketchup andmustard ?stains? on it. I say stains because we were asked at the window if we wanted ketchup and mustard and said NO.Apparently they had already put it on and decided to wipe it off instead of making a new one. My hubbys burger was burnt to acrisp on the edges and NOT fully cooked inside .. like gross. And my Frisco Melt was awful. What looked like two half pattiesbroken up and melted together with some cheese. The rest of the cheese was cooked and crunchy around one side. Soggy bread thatwon?t hold a sandwich together. I understand being short staffed but that doesn?t explain such poor judgement in making foodthat?s presentable and what was actually ordered. I hate the kiosks...so cold and impersonal. With no wait staff, it's impossible to get help. But condition of the dining area... was filthy. Table tops not wiped clean, floor nasty and sticky, old food on the floor...and a hair in my milkshake. Disappointing to say the least. Read more
