Follow me to see what's next! Really, at this point, it could be anything! A solid 5? here at Ray's Shanty! We had four adults... eating and 3 of us gave this a 5?. Service: 5? fast and friendly! Food: 5? large portions, good value. No one is leaving thisplace hungry. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Speed: 5? holy cow this place was BUSY. We waited an hour but once seatedwe had drinks and hush puppies immediately and the food wasn't far behind. Food came out surprisingly fast. 40 minutes fromseating to finish. Food was good. Platter is miss labeled does not come with 3 hush puppies. Staff were friendly.
Absolutely fantastic. Went on a lark to celebrate a birthday and goodness it was worth it. Fresh seafood, great portions,... delicious - especially for the price. We left stuffed and delighted. That said: people say to go for the hush puppies, andthey're right. But people don't mention the SIZE. I went in thinking "oh, three for a dollar? weird, I wonder what's up withthat" - and then we got the puppies in advance of our entree platters. They're the size of tennis balls. Atmosphere was good. Shark bites were good. Ordered broiled scallops which arrived with a different seasoning...I asked what it... was..the chef wouldn't disclose. They were just *ok*...glad I wasn't allergic. Hush puppies are good. Fried shrimp wasovercooked. Read more
Catch of the day (grouper) and crab cake sandwiches were big and delicious. Crab cake was the better of the two, definitely... recommended. Hush pupps great too. Had our dog with us so we did takeout and they brought the food out to us no problem. Veryfriendly, will try to stop again on the way back up north! Read more
Was a line when we arrived, but staff was super polite and wait was only a few minutes. Place was packed, but staff was fast,... efficient, and super friendly. Very family themed restaurant. Nice sea themed decor, but not overwhelming or corny. The friedflounder was literally humongous, and everything was reasonably priced. Wife had the crab cakes, also awesome. Hush puppieswere amazing.
