Charming place with great preserves. Nice gardens outside for walking around by the river. We were there late in the season and... as such the restaurant and gardens were closed for the season. Read more

My family has vacationed on P.E.I. over the past thirty years well over twenty times and the P.E.I. Preserve Company is on our... ?Must Visit? list. We regularly buy their excellent preserves and use them as Christmas gifts for our far-flung relatives acrossCanada (excellent Noel hint). Post-pandemic 2022 was an opportunity for us to revisit the PEI Preserve Company after severalyears of absence and we were anxious to have breakfast in their beautiful restaurant along the Clyde River. We were a party ofseven adults that arrived at 9:00 AM. First of all, the restaurant was freezing when we arrived and most patrons had jackets andsweaters on while seated. This should be an easily-regulated issue and should not occur in this restaurant as there is only onemain room and not multiple rooms and levels like some other restaurants. The size of our group may have contributed to the majordrawback we experienced, i.e. breakfast orders served both late and cold. Poached eggs were over-cooked, scrambled eggs weretepid as were orders of pancakes and toast. The potatoes tasted good but as they were served un-spiced, it was an underwhelmingexperience. Worst of all, it took over 45 minutes between the time we ordered and the actual arrival of our breakfast meals ?this is clearly not acceptable and resulted in the food not being hot. To me, it indicates that the restaurant either has a verysmall kitchen or is currently understaffed in the kitchen as the output cannot keep up with the orders coming in. We didn?tcomplain at the time, probably due to the fact we were famished ? we just wanted to eat and get out of the dining room. On thepositive side, our waitress tried to keep all of our coffee cups full and patiently took all of our orders. We noticed thatthere were two managers who were pitching in to serve coffee and talk to customers. We will come back for breakfast next year atthe PEI Preserve Company since this restaurant is a sentimental favourite with our family. How Read more

We have eaten here on every trip to PEI since they opened the restaurant. The food is good, atmosphere cozy, and friendly... servers. On previous visits we have had the opportunity to make a reservation however this year the only option was to join awaitlist, which we did (behind groups of 25, 11, 8, etc?). We were seated only a few minutes after the window we were given anddrinks arrived quickly. However, our cups ran dry as we sat and waited over an hour for our lunch. We were given a small plateof chips and salsa for the four of us to tide us over. I?m not sure if it was the larger parties that got the kitchen backed upor not, and the food was good when it came out, but I?m not sure that the waitlist system is working all that well for them. Weskipped dessert, which is usually a favourite, as we just wanted to get out of our 2 hour marathon lunch. Read more

We ate at the restaurant (dinner). The dining room is very nice with interesting stained glass windows and quilts hanging on the... ceiling! Wonderful views out the windows too. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. They have a fantastic tea collectionand serve it very well. The gift shop is delightful, many nice jams, soaps, and a wide array of fancy bone china tea mugs/cups.Outside are the Gardens of Hope which are beautiful and good to wander through after the meal. This place was the best breakfast place to stop by. The food was absolutely delicious. The view overlooked their garden where... they grow fruits to make their homemade jams. The tea selection was a gem. The price was super affordable as well. Read more

If you are anywhere near here (all of PEI, ha) you HAVE to go at least once, otherwise you will regret it! The breakfast is so... taste, filling and sooooooo inexpensive that if I lived on the island I would come every day or at the very least on weekends!Went for two breakfasts here over 4 days on the island (half the time) and enjoyed the food, staff, the VIEW overlooking thewater, everything down to the tea cups. Having followed the pandemic guidelines to a tee making this beautiful little spot socomfortable during these troubled times. The location is so easy to get to from all other the island and the parking lot makesit very easy considering the size of the building. I recommend this place to any and everyone and will definitely be coming backif/when I come back to the island. Read more

The potato pie was to die for. Place was incredibly busy, and service was slow. On food alone this would be a 5 star review. ... Highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We checked a few days before hand but it was too late to make one. They savesome of their tables for walk in, so we had to wait 45 minutes for lunch (arrived at 11:15 AM....but not early enough!)
