Very good coffee but unfortunately the wealth of different coffee options in New Haven as well as high price point in here rob... this place of five stars. Let's start with the good: the coffee is very high quality (although not quite as good as MidpointCoffee Brewers) and the pastries are fantastic. Really enjoyed my morning bun -- the slight taste of orange peel was a greataddition! Also really liked how the executed the bookstore cafe concept -- the selection of books here pales in comparison tosome of the larger bookstores in the city but I was still able to find a number of titles that interested me whilebrowsing. The challenge is the price point here is so high that great food is basically a given and this place didn't do muchto justify that higher price point over the numerous other high quality pastry and coffee shops in the surrounding area. Overall, still recommended -- it's very good -- but don't expect a budget coffee experience. Read more
Be prepared to wait in line for a little bit on a busy Sunday but it’s worth it. Coffee was great, breakfast sandwiches were... great, danish was great. Only One person fielding all the incoming orders for coffee and baked goods (both in person and onlineorders) but we still managed to get in, order, and get our food in about 23 minutes and we really enjoyed it all. Nice bookstore with a small cafe located in the first floor of the Yale British Art Gallery. Their pastries are above the... average cafe, I've tried the "nest" this time and it was a nice combination and not too sweet (but definitely too big). Read more
Cute coffee/bookstore. BEVERAGES: I got a Iced latte and a hot chocolate which were very good. FOOD: Caprese panini, good... The Chocolate Croissant was great. The Cheese Danish was superb. They are great in bakery and deserved 5 stars, until I tasted... scone (apple fruit flavored). The scone was a slab of wheat flour, partially cooked. Now I am a little afraid trying out otherbakery items, just to avoid experience like the scone. Read more
Bookstore + Cafe Great food with seating and a good selection of books! I personally really enjoyed the croissant, which I... didn't ask to be toasted but it was still really fluffy. I also got a hot Chai latte. It did take a while because it looked likerush hour but it came out the right temperature. Not too sweet either! Also the Bookstore!
