Finally made it here. staff were great had had their famous mash potato and bacon pizza. Also had Portrait of New Haven pizza, ... crust very tasty. Overall, was good, but if I'm only in New Haven a couple days, Bar would not be my choice for apizza. Read more
Best delicious pizza I ate in recent times. 1) Friendly staff 2) Lots of options for build your own pizza 3) speciality new... haven pizza sause is tasty 4) Pool table and beer brewing equipment are a nice scenery change 5) Walkable from parking garageand a nice graffiti wall 6) The below pizza are medium size which is a lot for medium ????. It was a Friday evening at 11:00 PM , my friend and I, after a draining work week wanted to grab something to eat. We headed out... to downtown only to be rejected by the first eatery and then we decided to go to the BAR, who still were serving pizza at 11:30.We grabbed two tomato and cheese pizza and then two mashed potato and Ham , both were extremely delicious. Then with thepalpable party atmosphere we decided to burn some calories on the dance floor. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Very welcoming, laid back environment. They have a very casual side with a bar and pool table and... a slightly less casual side with a bar and a bunch of tables and booths (pic is of the latter). Service was great and they brewtheir own beers, but we're all here for the pizza. Their pizza holds up to the New Haven greats, but in a very different way.We got their clams casino, BBQ brisket, and mozzarella and pepperoni pies. Pepperoni was good, but not the highlight. Clamscasino and BBQ brisket were both amazing and the reason they can hang with Pepes, Sally's, and Modern. Will be back to try someof their other specialties including the mashed potatoes and bacon. Best wood fired pizza in CT. They do traditional and nontraditional pies. I go for a custom red pie with pepperoni and... jalapeños, or the house white clam with bacon. Also, the classic mashed potato pizza is legend. Oh, and they brew their ownbeer. Enough said. Read more
Pizza was good but I was actually more impressed with the salad!! Those candied walnuts were too good!! Portion sizes are pretty... big (you could share a small pizza between 2 people) and I felt the meal was so reasonable. Staff was incredibly friendly!! Allaround a great place to go if you are hungry in New Haven. Read more
The service was exceptional and the pizza was a good example of the New Haven style. Bar brews their own beers, but they also... have a nice variety of guest taps. The atmosphere and decor was cool, with the taproom tables and benches that remind me of anOktoberfest beer tent. Read more
