The service here was so awesome! The waitress and the manager were so kind and the food came out at a good pace. I came here... with my wife and we enjoyed it a lot. We ordered three tapas (spiced beef empanadas, patatas bradas, and albondigas) and thehalf paella mariscos and that was plenty to fill us up. Out of the Tapas? the patatas bradas was the best. The sauce that wentover the potatoes had such an impact. If I had to pick the best dish for tonight it would be the Paella Mariscos for me though.As soon as I ate the rice I could taste the seafood umami and it was so delicious!! Highly recommend! This place has an amazing atmosphere! The food is great and the staff is really friendly! The manager was very respectable and... attentive ? she stopped by our table to check if we were enjoying our meals and I noticed she did that to every single tablewhile she was around! The tapas plates are really yummy, but, as expected, portions are very small. The price adds up quickly,even if dinner is just for two people. Foe tapas: I recommend the gambas (we ordered it twice because they were that good!), theokra and the salt cod. This felt like a great spot for a date or to have dinner with friends. Eating here is an experience. The employees- incredible! Everyone is so familiar with the menu and our waitress literally... brought us one of her favorites on the house because she knew we?d love it. Speaking of which, the food was amazing andauthentic. As someone whose spent months in Barcelona, I?m very impressed. The manager was very attentive and bubbly, she wentto each table several times to chat and make sure everyone was happy. Came here with the family on my birthday. The staff was amazing and the food was phenomenal. Definitely worth the price.... Location is pretty central. Not a lot of places to park on the street so may have to park somewhere else and walk over butthat?s for most places within the downtown New Haven area. Read more
The ambiance is really nice at Barcelona. We were in New Haven celebrating the new year with our family. Barcelona was a great... choice. Food was really tasty and drinks were great. Lovely service and ambience (including music) but the food was below average. We ordered 5 different dishes and all of them... failed to impress, except scallops which met expectations. One wine stood out which was a 1927 solera, dark red, full bodiedsweet wine, another lovely drink was el bandarra vermut which was very flavorful. We ordered both twice. As an upscale concept franchise, this place will fail to disappoint! I've been to the New Haven location twice and the West... Hartford once and each time leave with my palate dancing with deliciousness. I urge you to try everything on offer at thistapas-inspired gem of a eatery! Some favorites are the truffle bikini, the pork belly and a selection on a charcuterie boardcoupled with a nice wine menu and tasty selection of house drinks.
