The food was okay. I ordered the elote which was really good but the chicken empanadas were pretty fresh, they could've used a... little more seasoning. My mother ordered the lamb chops which were very well seasoned and delicious but very small. The friednoodles were the most price worthy entree but it was really salty. The desserts were also just okay. All in all, the food wasfine but I'd probably go there solely for the drinks. Read more
Not gonna lie this place is Fireeeeeee in all honestly we love small and medium plates and Spanish food and this place took me... back home , I grew up and lived for 25 years in PR and I felt like I was in a nice hidden gem , great music , great service andamazing food . This is one of my favorite places in New Haven. I live upstairs from the restaurant, so sometimes it's a bit too convenient! All... of the owners and staff are incredibly friendly, it's always a pleasure to see them. The food, drinks, and events aregreat. I've been here dozens of times over the last couple years, and never had a negative experience. I'd go 3.5 on this, okay rounding up to 4. Went Sat night, was relatively quiet, not crowded. Most of the food was solid, the... Cuban an Arepa were very good. Cocktails and drafts were on the small side, so not happy about that given the price. Ourserver was pleasant and super friendly. However he had no knowledge of the menu or the restaurant. I'd recommend thatmanagement do a better job, get your staff trained well and give them the tools to support your business. This place haspotential. Read more
I go here a lot, as I live right upstairs. It’s a bit of a party atmosphere, but a great place to easily bring a group of... friends day or night. Menu can be hit or miss. The good stuff is GOOD. They also make a good margarita, it’s not too sweet.Here are my personal favorites: Elote, Cobb Salad, breakfast tacos, French toast sticks, fried chicken waffle, all the tacos aregood, fried cheese appetizer. I love the look of the place!! Very spacious and large outdoor patio for those beautiful spring/summer days/nights!! Very... pleasant staff and great bartender. He went over the menu with us and shared some opinions on his favorites! The margarita wasok not the best and margaritas are my favorite drink. Prices are so so some too high for the portion you receive. The food wasok, nothing really special besides the fact there are many options of "Street food" to chose from. I was excited to have thepoutine another fav of mine. It was terrible. The gravy was tasteless, the fried were pretty soggy, and the cheese curds nah ano for me!! The shrimp taco was tasty. Everything was really good. Service was timely the place was very clean and nicely lit. The music selection was great and the... staff was very nice. My only issue was our server was very busy so we didn't get the attention need when needed. My friendwanted dessert but it wasn't on the menu we didn't know the dessert menu was separate and we didn't get one when seated so wedidn't get a chance to have dessert, other than that it was a great experience. My wife and I went on a Sunday for brunch. I love the location, the decor and the atmosphere (although the music was really... loud). We had three entrees to try between us and planned to take home what we couldn't finish. We got the Korean Crepe, Eggsin a Hole and the Breakfast Poutine. All three were very good. We each got the bottomless mimosas but honestly it was justorange juice with a splash of champagne. The negative is the service. We had to wave people down to get refills (that we paidfor). Strangely, we were the only table that didn't get a pitcher. We asked two separate staff members for to-go boxes and theynever came. We waited 30 minutes without seeing anyone until I finally just went up to the bar to pay the check that we nevergot. We ended up not taking any leftovers home because honestly we were just sick of waiting. I know it's really difficulthiring and keeping people. The staff all seemed nice, but really needed direction.
