My son and I had dinner at Harvest, and every part of the experience was fantastic. We chose to sit at the bar. We really liked... the decor/atmosphere. The bartender was incredible - friendly and helpful in every way from food to drink choices. We hadcharred octopus and mussels to start. Was truly looking forward to visiting this location, went early on a Saturday night with another couple prior to going to a show... at Westville. Service was excellent, drinks were good, but the kitchen totally sucked. And their lack of effort to make it rightwas disheartening! Had to leave the restaurant with not having eaten anything! And then to not even respond to an email sentto their posted address…this place does not care about your dining experience…they care about your cash! Plenty of othergood choices in New Haven. I go to Harvest at least twice a month. I've being doing this ever since I moved to New Haven 5 years ago. I enjoy South Bay too... on Sundays brunch, the sister restaurant. Harvest got an amazing staff and excellent food. I like going there on Wednesdaybecause they offer half price bottles of wine. This past Wednesday, however, I had the worst experience but it was nothing to dowith the restaurant itself. It was a very rude costumer that was sitting next to me. She was yelling at every staff member thatwalked by. I wanted to change table but the restaurant was very busy and I chose not to give them extra work. I ate my food veryquick so I could leave. Hopefully this young girl lady will not be next Wednesday. Management please prohibit costumers likethat from attending your restaurant. She made everyones's experience terrible. Thank you Read more
Used to be good but not anymore. We were seated and it took forever for anyone to come to the table. Then it took forever for... them to come back to give us anything including bread. I ordered a dinner to split and when I asked for a plate I was given asmall appetizer plate. I had to call the waitress back and tell her that I couldn’t eat the steak and potatoes on an appetizerplate and could she please bring me a real plate. Then there was the issue of dessert. Five desserts were ordered only 4 delivered. I had to ask several times to get the last dessert. It was delivered 15 minutes after the others. The food wasgenerally not good. The salad was soaked with way too much dressing. None of the entrees were up to this restaurant’sstandards. Desserts were disappointing. Service or lack thereof was the worst part of the experience. Our out of town guestswere not amused. We will not be back unless there is a major overhaul. Read more
The food was pretty decent, the steak with chimichurri sauce was good and I did enjoy the mac and cheese, it was good,... however I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the mash potatoes was bland and the spinach has no salt or pepper. But all andall it's was good. Just good (my opinion), everyone has their own. As far as presentation it looked delicious. Although I wasn'tthat impressed once I started eating(again my opinion). We passed this place many times and never realized how cozy and also up scale the inside is! They could offer a few more... vegetarian options, but they had enough to make a meal out of delicious appetizers. This is a great place to celebrate a specialoccasion. Read more
One of my favorite restaurants food and ambience wise outside and inside. But the last two times the service was bad. last... dinner for four of us (special occasion) was 2hrs 30min and we didn't get our food an hour and a half after we ordered. No drinkrefills, by time food came we weren't hungry anymore. Waiter said nothing as far as. "sorry we are backed up, sorry yours iscoming up shortly" etc. Just disappeared. not sure I could recommend the place without the warning of "service may still beterrible " Read more
