Went to Heirloom for birthday celebration brunch. Super easy access with valet parking. Restaurant is clean, modern design... without being pretentious and the food is unique twists on traditional brunch food. Absolutely fresh, beautifully preparedbenedicts, pancakes and creative avocado toast. Great coffee and cocktails as well. Will definitely go back and try dinner next! Read more

Go here if someone else is paying for it and you’re looking for a spot that’s ambiance > cuisine. The staff are lovely and... solicitous. The eggs benedict were decent but not anything special; I was a little hungry after the $20 two eggs on biscuitswith a smattering of dressed greens on the side (no home fries :( which I’ve gotten elsewhere). You can get much more generousbrunch portions for less money at other restaurants in New Haven (nearby - Maison Mathis; East Rock - Poppy’s or Pantry cometo mind). That being said, the dining room is lovely, with the giant glass windows that make its home in downtown hotel (TheStudy) an iconic fixture on Chapel Street providing an expansive view of passerby. Came for Saturday brunch. Ricotta blueberry pancakes were super dry, they don’t use maple syrup but artificial syrup, tomato... soup was great, egg sandwich with tomato was good but bun very greasy, home fries just ok, and grilled cheese good with plentyof fluffy bread. Highlight was Maria Bloody Mary. So meh…nothing really special here. Read more

Second time here and hasn’t disappointed yet! We got the ricotta and bread as a starter along with tomato soup. I got the... avacado toast with an egg and everything but the bagel seasoning. The mimosas were great, but pricey-spent 14 on just one. Iwould definitely recommend to anyone for a hearty brunch in downtown Nee Haven. People are very friendly! Read more

I specifically asked for "uncut toast" and "bacon not well". The bacon was so tough I could not even chew it. You can tell it... was pre-cooked yesterday. Now I understand why there is only 3 people in the restaurant. Just because you have the means to opena restaurant doesn't mean you should. Read more

I was traveling on my own through New Haven and wanted to enjoy a nice meal on my last night. I’ll say at first I wasn’t... really feeling it because I was seated at the bar (I had choose the spot myself in my reservation on OpenTable, when I arrivedasked if I could be seated elsewhere, but they were booked so no worries…but there were empty tables that remained empty theentire time I was there (1.5 hours). I understand having empty tables because of COVID and being shortstaffed but they were notallowing walk ins so I wasn’t really adding to the overall count of people). I saw that the menu offered a glass and a halfof wine which I was thrilled about - it was just me so I wasn’t into ordering a bottle but they do have incredible selection. It’s not the amount of wine it’s the type of wine they offer which I appreciate. Clearly shortstaffed, the manager wasbehind the bar, they were so friendly and personable. It’s a tough time for restaurants and they are doing incredible! Iordered the risotto for dinner and it was creamy and filling (but not overdone). It was a bit salty for my preference (and Iusually like salt!). I probably wouldn’t order it again there because of the salt and the price. Also, it comes with brusslessprouts but I would have loved more next time, just felt like it was some flakes and I expected full sprouts. This would benice for a pre or post dinner drink with a date or a friend. Staff 5/5 Food 3/5 Read more
