When my partner and I first moved in together, we moved into an apartment above this restaurant and woke up every morning to the... smell of prep in their kitchen. Since then, Soul De Cuba has always been a comfort restaurant for us. Their food has neverdisappointed, and their service and the culture of their business is consistently wholesome. We always feel welcome. We had asmall wedding reception, and we ordered food from all of our favorite New Haven restaurants for our guests. Soul De Cuba was thebiggest hit. Quality food in a cafe style setting! You order from QR codes at your table and the food and drinks come right to you. The fruit... juices were amazing you could drink them all day. The fish sandwich, salmon, and tofu all left us wanting more. The staff wasvery friendly but it might be difficult to get a table so plan ahead. Read more
Food was amazing - the ordering system is absolutely horrible… I am all for the evolution of the customer experience…... however the absolute lack of waiter/waitress service really negatively impacts the overall experience of eating out… honestlywon’t be back - I don’t want to deal with this establishments ordering system. It was my first time trying authentic Cuban food so although I found it absolutely delicious, I have nothing to compare it... to-hence my rating. If you’re use to post COVID, you order & pay with a credit card by scanning the QR code at your table.Some people don’t like their beverage served in a plastic cup but I love it, you can take it with you. I dined in and ordered a bistec palomilla and a soul sampler. Both were very good. Favorite was the empanada on the sampler.... Beans and rice were cooked well and the dipping sauces were amazing. Didn’t give 5 stars bc I wasn’t a super fan of theflavor of the papa rellena. But texture was perfect. Read more
