Absolutely incredible food. I was a particular fan of the “Ricotta Gnocchi.” The notes of pungent goat’s cheese paired... synergistically with the crisp asparagus and playful dates. Celebrated our 9 year anniversary here. Very nice ambience, it gets busy so making a reservation is key. Our waitress was... Denise, she was fantastic and very attentive. The pork was extremely dry, the figs were... sweet enough to off balance (figs usually are - these weren't), and the veggies weren't very flavorful. It’s not often that we leave a restaurant and feel compelled to write a review, especially a positive one, but we had an... amazing experience at ZINC. We were not only satisfied, but we walked away beyond impressed with everything. From the qualityand ingenuity of the food itself to the quality of the service we received, everything was fantastic. The waitstaff was not onlyextremely kind, but they anticipated our every need and went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of, allwithout being asked. Had dinner here this evening. It was most likely the worst meal and overall dining experience I’ve ever had. Our server barely... spoke to us. He gave us no information about the menu or anything the restaurant may have been featuring tonight. Our drinkswere never offered to be refilled. The buss person took the remainder of our appetizer away without even asking if we cared tofinish it. Overall, the food was mediocre at best. My tuna was ok but my wife’s Salmon was cooked to the consistency of a drypiece of lumber. Once we finished eating we sat at our table for a considerable amount of time before we finally asked the bussperson to kindly bring us the check. Neither our waiter or any other employee of the restaurant checked on us once throughoutour meal or afterwards to make sure it was to our liking. Finally, our waiter passed by our table only to literally throw thedesert menu at us and continue moving on. Rest assured, we will never find ourselves at Zinc again. I would strongly encourageanyone else thinking of dining here to consider one of the many other fine establishments in and around that section of NewHaven. Read more
