My very first time eating here and eating Indian food. Was pleasantly surprised. Started with garlic naan and a chicken naan.... Garlic was really good. The chicken was not as good. I ordered the Chicken Tikka masala, the sauce was very good, creamy but notto thick. Others in my party ordered the Pepper chicken. Chicken was a-little dry but seasoning was just right. Least favoriteof all The dishes was Phaal Chicken, It’s listed as 4 peppers for intensity. Was very spicy, over powered the chicken, to thepoint burned throat when you swallowed. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Two dining areas and nice size bar in back diningroom. Our waitress’s name was Sweety. She was very good. There was a great team effort by all employees. Superb. I've had a lot of Indian food across the US and the food, service, and atmosphere of this place is beyond anything I've... had. I had the tamarind eggplant and the tandoori palette. The eggplant appetizer felt like a full meal and the flavor wasoutstanding for a meager $7. Very generous portions, and beautifully presented. I'm in danger, this place is an easy walk frommy work and now that I know how amazing this is I may be coming in often. If you love Indian food, just go. There's no way to bedisappointed. Read more

I am not a die-hard fan of Indian Cuisine but The Spice Palette has created my newfound affection for it. I was talking to... Tanzeela - one of their crew members who initially welcomed us in, said they've opened the restaurant (theyre on Bank St.) inOct 2021, and despite all the recent ups and downs of the restaurant industry, Spice Palette had kept their doors open. Thedining area is well spaced, with their walls covered by lush artificial turf, creating a relaxed atmosphere. It has loftyceilings with a center dome (a work of art by Nia, also a crew member) and an indoor fountain that felt more homey thancommercial. The full interior is sublimated by the soft melody of music playing in the background. The Chef did amazing workwith our orders: The Chat Papdi was an excellent appetizer with sweet and tangy flavors smeared in a combination of crispcrackers, chickpea, onions and potatoes. The Prawn Sultani - cashew sauce endearingly creamy and sweet, was heavily complementedwith a buttery scattering of grilled shrimp carefully plated and accompanied by shredded flavor composites cradled in a bowl ofseasoned biryani rice. We also had the garlic naan- flatbread with charred portions (creating texture and grit). You will wantto leave space for dessert too. Nia recommended the Gulab Jamum. This version of dry milk dumplings is improbably rich yet nottoo sweet. The hospitality is unrelenting at The Spice Palette, but what else would you expect from a restaurant with thecoolest crew? Definitely come and visit. And when you do, spread the word! Read more

My wife and I visited The Spice Palette for the first time today. What a wonderful experience. This was the best Indian food, in... our opinion, ever!! There was food on their menu which we had never seen on other Indian Restaurant menus. The service wasoutstanding. We started with Marsal Dosa, paper thin rice - lentil crepe with beet, potato and green peas filling. Delicious! Our main entrees, Tofu Kadai, which is tofu with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and spices, and Vegetable Korma, which isvegetables cooked in a cashew almond creamy sauce. WOW! Fantastic! We finished with Mango/ Pistachio / Badam Kulfi. A veryspecial dessert. This is a must visit if in the area. The Spice Palette is a large beautifully decorated restaurant with a largeparking lot in a very pleasant neighborhood on Bank Street. Read more

I couldn't wait to write this review. Total random-event finding this restaurant. I was cold - hungry - and wanted something... that would satisfy both as I made my way off of I-95 at Ext-75 (Waterford, CT). I decided to drive until I found somethinginteresting. It wasn't long until I saw what appeared to be a match. In the most unexpected location, there in front of me was aname I'd not seen before ..."Spice Palette." It was 10:50 AM; a few moments on Google and a phone call to see if they weretaking dine-in lunch customers and I was in at opening-bell - 11:00 AM. I was seated by a super-nice host/waiter by the name of,"Priyan-Paul" - a young gentleman whom herald's from southern Indian, and more recently, Florida. Now ...I've lived in 12countries overseas on 4-continents and have had Indian food the world-over. Been to Bangladesh and lived in Islamabad and Kabul.Folks - this is the REAL DEAL. I knew it just by looking at the menu. The chef, "Lijoy Verghese" did his training in Gao - atown on the western shore of middle-India along the Arabian Sea. He's no stranger to seafood. I've always thought that thecountries of SE Asia made the best renditions of calamari. After trying one bite of Lijoy's, Spice Calamari today, I've updatedthat to, "South Asia." It was fantastic ... and just when I though I'd like it really spicy - there was a perfectly roastedred/green chili pepper in the middle of it that blew my head off. Awesome! Beware - nibble it with each bite and don't forget totake a bite of the fresh lemon rind with each mouthful. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back for dinner tonight. Iwanted to order everything - but had to show some restraint and ordered the following items with pictures of some of the dishesshown in my review. - Spice Palette Salad - Kachumber Salad - Spice Calamari - Vergetarian Biriyani - Mango Chicken - GobiParatha - Masala Chai - Chicken Shahi Korma - Madras Coffee I said I was hungry. The prices are so very reaso Read more

I don’t write reviews often but I am speechless up to a point I had too! Fish Mappas have real Indian flavors.I am eager to... try more items. The sides (Spice Calamari) were delicious and prepared with expertise. I have been to 35 of the 50 states. Always on the hunt for good Indian cuisine. I am just glad I don't have to hop a plane to India anymore! Read more

My husband and I went to the Spice Palette yesterday. The space is roomy and well lit. We dined in and everything was really... great. The vegetable samosa had flavor and you could see the veg once broken. My husband had the lamb Palau and I had the goatbiriyani. The heat point was great. The goat was tender the lamb was tender and the flavors were really distinct. The servicewas great too. The chef came out as well and say hello. Thank you Spice Pallette for setting up business in Southeastern CT. Wewill be back and we wish you success. Read more
