We stayed this week to celebrate our anniversary and play some golf. Very cozy inn with friendly and hospitable staff. We had a... bit of a hiccup on arrival as I booked a king bed and they provided me a queen (I had a boot on for an injury and we needed alarger bed) room and indicated that is all they had. They straightened this out quickly and solved the issue for us. Even gaveus a free beer for the mix-up. We ate in the restaurant the second night and it was excellent. They were clearly short staffed(due to another event at the INN) but what staff were there they worked hard to make the experience enjoyable. The reason Igave it 4 stars and not 5 was the bed. Mushy bed with a big crater in the middle of the bed. Truly felt like the bed they hadwhen they opened in 1792. They have new owners and the first thing they should do is replace all of the beds. First, the quantity of food, ordered a salad for $15 it looked like it was a garnish that belong on the side of a main entrée.... Second, ordered filet mignon medium comes out rare, sent back comes back still not to the temperature of choice. Waitress Rarelycheck on us, table stayed cluttered with empty bottles and glasses. I asked for olive oil and vinegar on my salad, they bringout the wrong dressing. I asked to please bring out olive oil and vinegar, they don’t have olive oil in a Italian stylerestaurant? We are so happy we stumbled upon the New London Inn on our way to Cape Cod this year. Needing a last minute place to spend the... night we called around as we drove down the highway and found there were rooms available. Tired and hungry, we showed up closeto when their restaurant was going to stop taking orders and it was suggested we get an order in asap. Upon check in we alsoplaced a food order that would be brought up to our room after we got settled in. The food was amazing and the service wasimpeccable, I would highly recommend either staying here or just visiting the restaurant on the bottom floor! We may have tomake it a tradition to leave a night early for vacation so we can stop in New London for a night. Thanks again! Read more
This is the second group luncheon at the Coach House at the New London Inn this summer. I can't say enough about their amazing... service and staff. Mary Carol the manager, and the waitstaff where some of the best. They go above a and beyond. They madeeveryone feel so special, and they were always smiling. Our entire group talked about them all the way home. The food wasabsolutely delicious! ! We really can't wait to return to the Coach House! 5* service for sure! Read more
I remember when there was once a vary large and very active art gallery in New London. My parents live there and I would visit... often. However in the last few years I noticed the gallery was gone! Well, how pleasant a surprise it is to have found that themagnificent displays of many notable artists are now to be found here at the Inn! The walls are covered by them. And they areall for sale. So come for lunch or dinner or a cocktail and peruse the fine art that makes this establishment particularlyunique. Read more
