I have nothing to say compliments! I worked over eleven if my years in restaurants and truly know a great Restaurant. Now,... Mexican is definitely not my best food I love, I must say that Jaliscos has converted me immediately. I hope to eat outside onthe patio, but I get so hungry for their great food, that I cannot wait. Despite a paper on the front saying, due to COVID,they may be slow. They need to take it down. Their service is not just quick, but everyone working there are surprisinglygreat, caring and beautiful. The food, however, may be not taken to your liking if you ever eat frozen Mexican or from TacoBell. This is TRULY authentic Mex and everyone of the staff is friendly and interesting people. My only previous negative Icould previously find, was no WIFI, but the most beautiful and friendly owner has fixed that and was able to watch my baseballon line on my phone. I have nothing but to rejoice in positives! I love their shredded beef Chimichangas, but do not listen tome on that front, look at the lengthy menu that covers so many great dishes. Come here and enjoy easily the best restaurant inNew Market, if not the great Mexican restaurant in the Valley. I will state that I lived in San Antonio for four years and havebeen to Mexico many times and I can say, if you want the quickest route to a great Restaurant in Mexico and do not want theairfare, simply stear your car towards 9403 S Congress St, New Market, VA 22844 and visit Jalisco! An unexpected find in a small Virginia town alongside the Blue Ridge Mountains. The food was good but not great. My wife had the... Carne Asada and a salad instead of rice and beans. Her only criticism was the steak knife was the straight edge style, noserrations, which made it difficult to cut and the handle was broken. Most of one side was missing. That knife should have beentossed when it broke. I had the Chori Pollo. The chicken was thin causing the edges to overcook. The chorizo was good but notspicy like I've come to expect. Also, I thought the amount of queso was lacking. Service was friendly so no issues there. Wewould eat there again in order to try other options on the expansive menu. I went to New Market for a night with my family, and Jalisco Mexican Restaurant made me fall in love with the little place. It... has soulful live music, a roomy patio wrapped with twinkly lights- which screams romance, and amazing food. The servers have astrong knowledge of the menu and are ready to answer questions. Beans had a very distinct taste and smell. Chicken was cooked and then had some sauce thrown over it. Definitely not the normal... Mexican as others Jalisco's I have eaten at. Staff was really nice which was a plus. Read more
