Staff is very nice and knowledgeable and the food is great! Very well priced for the amount of food that you get! I loved that... there was no wait and the tables are spaced out well so as to not feel claustrophobic like other eateries in the area. One thingto be aware of though is that it is a slightly open air place so you may have some cute little bird friends come up to yourtable to visit! Read more

Cafe Maspero is located in the heart of the French Quarters and makes for a great sit down option right in the middle of it... all. We came here late on a Friday night before starting our night on Bourbon Street looking for a good meal to get started. Weboth ordered fish for the Gulf, a beer, and fries, and japeno hushpuppies. It was incredibly well done and I think my top mealexperience in New Orleans. Service was prompt, and polite, atmosphere was awesome. Calm and relaxing inside of the restaurant, but lots of city bustle to watch outside, windows and doors surrounding the restaurant are wide open, so you able to side insidean eat while still enjoying the sights and sounds of the French quarter, though if you're by a window or open door, it's liableto get cold in the events, so, dressing comfortably will make your dinner worth more while. Definitely recommend! Read more

I would say this is an OK restaurant considering the vast amount of choices in New Orleans. The building’s architecture is... beautiful. Food was OK. Something I noticed was that the vents that run along the ceiling were dripping water, which is normaldue to condensation; but with that said, I am glad we weren’t one of the tables seated under / close to the vents as Iwouldn’t want that water dripping on the food or myself. While visiting New Orleans, we wanted to revisit a past dining experience and stopped into Cafe Maspero. Upon check-in, the host... was less than happy to accommodate a table for 4. No greeting, no smile, no sense of wanting to be there in the least! Onceinside, our waiter, Antwann, quickly changed the mood. He was friendly, informative and made us feel right at home. We dined onfried alligator, Chicken & Andouille Gumbo, Maspero’s Chicken Sandwich, and Crawfish Étouffée. The food was hot, fresh andtasted like New Orleans! As a bonus, we ordered the jalapeño hush puppies! Would highly recommend this establishment (forgetabout the host)! Read more

Cafe Maspero is a must when coming to New Orleans. The price was right and the portions were huge. Six of us shared 3 fried... sea food platters. We were stuffed and couldn’t finish them even sharing with others at the table. I’m not a fish/seafoodfan normally but would order the gulf fish again in a heartbeat. AND the hush puppies were prepared perfectly. Our waitresstook fantastic care of us. Wish I could remember her name to give her props. If we weren’t already planning to try differentcuisine every night I’d eat there the rest of our trip. Read more

Good food along Decauter St. I've been eating here off and on for about 10 years. They are always good. I had the Gumbo and the... Red Beans and rice this time. Well made, balanced flavors. I wish I could fix my red beans that creamy. And the Gumbo roux wasreally good. The tab was kind of high. Turns out that if you get the sausage with the beans it literally tacks on $12. Not sureabout that. But live and learn I guess. Service sucked. It's wasn't pack, just our waiter wasn't that attentive. Oh well, welcome to NoLA. Read more

The jambalaya is pretty good my buddy said the stuffed fish is excellent. I tried a piece of the fish andthought it was pretty good myself. Read more
