Would give 3 1/2 stars. By accident passed by this German restaurant. Schnitzel was very good. Sausage was good, felt like... homemade but the taste wasn't authentic. If you have never taste the real German sausage, then these are good. Beer was great. Read more

Good Buffalo wings and the pulled pork poutine was pretty good too. The ipa from dancing gnome was excellent. We liked that they... allowed dogs on their patio and the service was excellent! Nice afternoon after a bike ride on the nearby rail trail. Read more

Highly recommend sitting outside if you come here. Very relaxing atmosphere and good selection of food, not all of it is typical... German fare. The staff are really friendly as well. Read more

One of the few places in town open for food after 8pm. The foods ok. Burger is good, frickles yummy, pork belly tacos tasty too,... and the Salads are huge. I would not recommend the French onion soup, that was terrible, and there was carrots in it, weird.Overall great beer selection l, nice servers, and ok food. Read more

Had lunch here today at noon time when they opened. This if my kind of place. The food was good. The beer was good. The wait... staff was patron and dog friendly and simply awesome. Brought me a cup of ice for my Pup, thank you! Great place to have lunchon the patio with my Pup after a nice walk on the rail trail which is nearby. You must scan code to view menu on your phone. Thescannable code didn't work out for me, so I looked up the menu on their website. I had the Glens Ruben and a liter of HofbrauMunchen Beer (Very Tasty). Conveniently located on Main Street in the Village of New Paltz. No restaurant parking. If you'redriving there, bring quarters to feed the meter. Parking can be difficult. Read more

It was just a quick stop for a drink. Unique atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely come back to try their food. Visit... #2 I love the menu here? so many things I want to try. We got The German (a bratwurst sandwich on a pretzel bun with pierogilayered in-awesome) and the schnitzel. Overall, the food is really good. The only thing stopping me from giving this five starsis just how salty everything is. It was also odd that the menu when accessed through the QR code at the table showed prices upto $3 less than the prices listed on the paper menu. The bill reflected the higher price point. Visit #3 The food was lesssalty and price was matched this time even though I didn?t have the paper menu. Read more

Fun place. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor. They are very accommodating with the menu. Please be patient as they... are short staffed (like many other places in New York and around the country) - but the staff are very sweet and they were greatwith the kids requests. The food is good - not so many options if you're vegan tho Read more

When you go to New Paltz, you can expect local eateries to have varied menus, deep beer lists, and quirky offerings. Schatzi's... exemplifies all three. There is something for everyone on the menu and while I only ordered one meal I'm quite certain itrepresents a commitment to a tasty flavorful menu. I had the veggie Reuben. There's no way in hell I could have expected slowcooked beets to taste so absolutely incredibly delicious. The french fries were French fries. What will stand out as well isthe great service. I asked for a grilled chicken cutlet for my dog Clara. They took the time to grill it from scratch to avoidany seasonings for my dog... I personally didn't even think to ask. I had a double dry to drink and it did not disappoint. Ihighly recommend this place if you're in the area Read more
