When I visit my college town New Paltz, I treat myself chicken shawarma ???? it's the tradition. My life is constantly changing... but somethings, like having chicken shawarma here, remain the same. The name of this restaurant changed but the food seems to bethe same. Way to go! Read more
I liked the place, the food was tasty the service was good. It?s clean and cozy. I didn?t like the greek salad- probably because... l know how the original tastes :) but other than that, everything was good. The halloumi cheese tasted just the same as inGreece. The chicken too. 2nd time having food from Zaytune's and it didn't disappoint. We ordered the gyro burger and the lamb chops, which came with 4... lamb chops and rice. Both entrees were very flavorful and the portions were pretty decent. This new place is much better thanthe previous restaurant, Moonlight cafe, as the quality of the food and establishment is on another echelon. The food is on thepricier side, and for the amount of food that they give you, I do feel like they should give you a little more but nonetheless,you won't be disappointed with the quality of the food. I came across this city for the first time when I was looking for Halal food place by chance. I found this cute restaurant.... Waiter Aybike is amazingly fast and friendly. It's a good place to have a pleasant dinner with your friends. I definitelyrecommend Shrimp, mix appetizer. Read more
I think this is some of the best Mediterranean food that I?ve ever eaten!!! I enjoy Mediterranean food and have eaten it in the... Middle East, Greece, Turkey, Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries, as well as enjoying cooking it myself. This was some ofthe best flavored most beautifully served Mediterranean food that I?ve ever had. After working up an appetite during abeautiful fall hike in the Catskills, my cousin and I landed at Zaytune Mediterranean café. The interior of the café iscasual but sleek and sophisticated with his white and green decor. The gentleman who served us, whom I think may be the owner,was extremely polite and accommodated all of our wishes. My cousin and I split the Combined App Plate. A delightful blend ofsmoky flavor baba ghanouj, hummus and another eggplant dish with vegetables and walnuts accompanied by a soft, warm, delicious pita bread. My main dish was shrimp that was grilled to perfection along with herb grilled vegetables of the season,accompanied by a salad all served on top of an herb grilled flatbread. My cousin had a delightful Greek salad with herb grilledchicken on top. We also ordered a side of golden brown crispy falafel which was plated on a smear of hummus along with a ahummus dip. We ended the meal with a lovely creamy rice pudding which arrived on a plate with raspberry drizzle and the lightestdusting of confectionery sugar. What a lovely experience this restaurant was. While I live in California, I visit the HudsonValley area often. The Zaytune Café will be on my MUST visit list. Read more
My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant tonight on a whim, and we were not disappointed! I had eaten at the previous... restaurant there, but this food was so much better! Not only was the food delicious and cooked perfectly, but the staff at thecounter were super nice and helpful. Bonus points for the awesome music too! Not outstanding not terrible, which is why these folks are getting a middle 3 stars. You can tell this is a family run place and... the owner takes great care in keeping the inside and outside clean. Prices for the mains were reasonable, but the prices for theapps were sky high. The food was...food. There was flavor, just not anything you could particularly pinpoint. It just tastedlike sustenance. My family and I all got wraps and would be willing to try the platters for a different experience. Read more
