We went to The Yellow Kittens twice during our week-long stay on Block Island, and both times, we had a good experience. We sat... outside on the deck. First time we shared a large nachos platter with brisket. It was quite good, but I was surprised it hadbits of pineapple on it - maybe part of the salsa fresca? My husband picked off the pineapple but I liked it. Second time I hadtheir taco salad with brisket. It was delicious and their brisket is tender. So look, this is a local joint with no pretense,folks, and the silverware and cups are plastic. If you're looking for upscale and more gourmet, go to the Oyster Bar and Grillat the Manassis Hotel. Was very disappointed with the food here - my chicken burrito bowl had no flavor?Chipotle does a better job. What restaurant... claiming to be a mexican restaurant doesn?t even have pico de gallo?! Had to ask for salt and was suggested the green hot saucewhich I didn?t know costs extra. Couldn?t even finish half of my bowl and went around the corner to the grocery store to cleansemy palate. The nachos were excellent! The burrito bowl and burrito were good as well. Two of our party got the tumbleweed burger and were... disappointed, and the yucca fries were hard, definitely not worth the up sell... but all in all we enjoyed our lunch. Read more

Unprofessional staff. Rude and obnoxious. Terrible bartenders and just all around morons in general to be honest. If I had a... business plan set up for failure I'd hire the crew of bums who work here. Especially the very unattractive female bartender whomight be the stiffest board on the island. The security is not only under manned it's undersized for the job. Overall veryavoidable on an island full of much nicer places to spend your money in. Read more
The food here is amazing!! It is extremely fresh with wonderful bold flavors. Gatitos offers a large variety of items and salsa... choices. The grilled corn is a must try, nachos are piled high and stuffed with tasteful ingredients. Best Mexican food I'vehad in New England, and wait staff are very friendly and attentive!
