Our family had a wonderful dine in experience yesterday. We were greeted by the owner who was top notch throughout our dinner. ... Every bite was amazing, from appetizers to dinner...you tasted all the quality ingredients and not a sign of "oil" smearingunder the rice or on any of the dishes. We ordered the following; Fish Pokora, Paneer Pakora, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer,Goat curry(spicy), Raita, Rice and Naan(sooooo soft, yum) ...and a Mango Lassi - all were stellar. The ambience itself, is notthe "modern upstream" you have the "fancy" restaurants...but a classic family mom/pop shop vibe where you feel the food isauthentically cooked with family love. My favourite Indian restaurant that I got takeout from weekly when I lived in New West. I've moved to Burnaby but will still hit... up the Royal Tandoori whenever I'm craving. My usual are the lamb vindaloo and butter chicken plus tons of butter naan. Thelamb vindaloo is the one dish that keeps me coming back as I haven't been able to find another restaurant that tastes as good. Read more
I love this place! Honestly the best Indian food in the lower mainland - fresh, tasty, feeds our family for days. Dal Makhani... and Channa Curry are two of my favourite veggie dishes. I've been going here for years. A wonderful family runs and operates this place, making great food. Easily one of the gems of... New West, especially if you are looking for a great curry and supporting a local business. I think I've tried everything onthis menu by now and have no regrets. Try out a goat curry!
