This is a very traditional dining place in NYC, and it is not located in its original location anymore. You can see its history... in the walls, the decor and the menu. I felt very culturally enriched by eating at the 2nd Ave Deli. Service was approachableand fun. The food was good, although not stellar. I have had better matzo ball soup and pastrami/corned beef sandwiches. Thetwin double especially is a little too expensive for what it is. What bumped this meal was my ?dessert?, the triple shotchocolate fountain soda. I was extremely surprised at how tasty chocolate soda can be! It was really a wild ride throughchildhood. Overall a nice experience. Read more

The pastrami sandwich was a bit chewy, the meat was not tender, nothing special. Spinach knish was good. Service was fast. When... we came in there was a line for people wanting to dine in, nobody mentioned we had to put our names on a list. After waitingfor a while, people started coming in after us and the person working at the counter told them to add their names to the listand they did before we got a chance. A clear sign with instructions at the door would be helpful during busy hours. Read more

The best pastrami sandwich I have ever had. It was so good and tender that all other pastrami sandwiches will not taste good... afterwards. A great experience for foodies that want to try an authentic New York City deli Read more

Awesome old school deli with friendly service and killer pastrami sandwiches featuring a mountain of thinly sliced pastrami... that?s oh so tender. They have 2 locations - this one and another on the UES. I?ve been to both and they?re equally good - justdepends what part of town you?re in. Read more

First time visiting this old school New York Deli, and it was very good as I had hoped. I really like that they slice The Corned... Beef and pastrami thin, as it should be, it just makes the sandwich all that more juicy and flavorful. Very friendly andlaid-back inside, great place to duck in and have a great lunch on a cold/rainy day. Slightly on the expensive side(NY!) butgenerally worth it as they serve a superior product! Among the top delis in New York! Read more

Very delicious and thin cut deli meat. One of the few places in New York City that is authentically kosher. The pastrami is very... great in flavor. Also highly recommend trying their chocolate flavored soda. Only thing is that the food is very expensive sonot a place to affordability go on a regular basis. Read more

UGH, so good!! I got salmon and scrambled eggs and it was literally divine. My husband got a gigantic sandwich that he couldn't... even finish a full 1/2 of! ???? We got a piece of Chocolate Babka at the end of our meal and it was delicious. We wanted to goback again in just the week we were in New York! Read more
