Beautiful place, fine cuisine, excellent food I would say. But we came at the special lunch time, and waiter gave us bill with... extra items, when we said him that, he kindly apologized, took bill away , and when he brought it back, we saw he removed only 1item instead of 4 other extra. One of the best Greek meals I have had in Manhattan. Their lunch special is 3 course for $32 and is worth every penny. Ambiance... is amazing and service is very good. We tried salmon tartare which was very good as well as spanakopita and grilled calamari.Both were fantastic. For mains we had lavraki (butterflied branzino), fish of the day and swordfish. Lavraki was my favoritefollowed by swordfish. For dessert we ordered orange cake, baklava and chocolate yoghurt mousse cake. Each was delicious. Willbe back for more. Read more

I went to Avra Madison last night and WOW!!!! Definitely the best choice I could make. I was celebrating my birthday and I could... experience the warmer welcome you can expect from the staff. I had the salmon and that plate was amazing. 5 stars, the best andattentive staff, the service was 100/100 and the wine and food much better. Loved the ambiance Of this restaurant. Waitstaff were always at an arms length and receptive to your dining experience. Being a... seafood restaurant we ordered some Chilean sea bass, sashimi and a few sides. Everything was in point except for a side ofspinach. No idea how they went wrong there. Really is one of those fancy-looking restaurants that does not live up to the expectations in various ways. Came for a birthday... dinner and first impression was chaotic. Host stand was so crowded and disorganized, 4 hosts were at the hosting stand but stillfailed to direct guest traffic appropriately. Food was good though, the freshly caught and air transported fish from theMediterranean was definitely something you don’t see everywhere, but the service put a huge discount on the experience.Waiting staff not proactive, and was not warm and welcoming enough. They were “friendly” but did not feel genuine. And thisrestaurant was way too noisy, and I came on week days. Overall a very subpar experience and would not recommend. Read more
