Ok I’m sometimes accused of living dangerously and when you read the reviews for Burrito Mariachi one would think to eat here... that must be the case. Well I are not once but twice today and my verdict is it’s a decent place for tacos. No their nottraditional tacos but let’s be honest if that’s what you want you’d be down a couple of blocks to Los Tacos No 1. But whatyou will get is a rather filling chicken taco. Admittedly I do have a soft spot in my heart for the Chinese run Mexicanrestaurants but I’d sooner eat here than Taco Bell. I first tried the chicken taco I figure if you mess up a chicken tacothere’s no need to try anything else. I was a little sticker shocked at the $4 after tax but when I sat down to eat it I feltbetter. First that bad boi was thicc like a mini burrito. The lettuce was fresh which is a plus, if you had wilted browninglettuce you know what I’m talking about. I don’t care for tomatoes so I can’t comment but the chicken was cooked well andseasoned well. I later tried their chicken nachos again chicken was good the same with black beans. You get what you pay for! I ordered the Shrimp Mexican pizza and had only 4 yes four shrimp on it ....really and lets not speak... of their wanta be Sopapilla. Saw it on the menu and I instantly thought of those fluffy pillows of dough from my childhood, andwhat I received was strips of greasy tortilla with cinnamon and honey. One of my go-to lunch places. Cheap and fast. The jack cheese quesadilla with chicken or steak is the best thing they offer imo,... but the chicken and steak tacos are also quite good, and generously portioned. I haven't tried other meats, and the guacamole isterrible (tastes like out of a bucket from costco) so I don't recommend that. But the chicken is very good. Read more
Tasteless food. Ordered through Seamless based on their internal reviews ranking it very high. There’s no way this place... earned their ranking fairly. Must have paid for fake reviews. To top off the food being tasteless and unappetizing, got morethan bit of gastrointestinal issues the morning after. Best to stay away if possible. Read more
Just wanted chips and guac and veg soup. A bit odd of an order considering it’s a “mexican food” restaurant, but that’s... all I wanted. The guacamole was decent and the chips were too. The food wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t memorable eitherconsidering I didn’t order other anything else. It looks like a chinese food place rather than a burrito place. Just felt alittle sketch when a coworker told me about a “mexican” restaurant in the area. It’s Tribeca first of all, secondly, nevertrust a New Yorker when it comes to Mexican food—ever. Read more
