What a great place to get a nice bowl of soupy pho! First off, the sides came out extremely fast. The summer rolls w/ shrimp... looked deceptively simple but the peanut sauce and fresh herbs like basil tied together for an excellent starter dish. We alsogot the Saigon wings with taro chips which were burning hot (in a good way) and came out probably within 5 minutes of sittingdown. They?re a little sweet and extremely crispy+juicy. The pho is going to be the star attraction. You can get a beef pho foraround 13 dollars while the more premium one (mine with the big beef rib bone) is around 21 dollars. The broth has a nice beefyflavor and the noodles are soft but not disintegrating. There is plenty of food in each pho and they come with a bowl ofveggies like basil, bean sprouts, and lime which lighten up the whole dish. I also tried the Thai iced tea but which is prettysweet but has a noticeable tea flavor which I find quite pleasant. Overall, Cha Pa?s is a gem in the midst of countless NYCrestaurants and definitely one of my go-to places for a cheap, honest bowl of refined comfort. Read more

We snuck in on a cold night looking for a warm bowl of soup, and Cha Pa?s delivered! The atmosphere: was small and cozy. It was... a nice restaurant with a good amount of seating for a middle place. The staff: was speedy and responsive. The food: wasdelicious. The spring rolls were terrific, and the Pho hit the spot! It would be nice if they had a black vinegar/ chili oil mixto also put in the soup. Cleanliness: no issues here. Everything was cleaned and wiped down. Read more

If you?re looking for a refreshing dish to eat during the hot summer, I highly recommend getting their bun thit nuong. It?s a... cold noodle with vegetables, nuoc cham (sweet and sour sauce), and your option of protein/vegetarian meat. I had a blast eatingthis. It?s hard to find authentic Vietnamese food in Manhattan, but this place comes pretty close. I appreciated the portion ofthe dish, and enjoyed the taste of the meat. It was absolutely refreshing, and didn?t have me feeling bloated after the end ofthe meal. If there was one improvement I could make to this dish, I?d recommend incorporating pickled vegetables/cut up eggrolls to add another layer of crunch and dimension that?s typically traditional of this Vietnamese staple. It?s also pretty easyto make at home too, as it requires minimal cooking/food prep. But if you?re feeling lazy, I?d definitely come here to feast onthis dish and the other delicacies they have to offer. Happy dining! Read more

I am not one to let a DoorDash coupon expire and I also happened to be craving Viet (I often am), so we decided to order from... here one Thursday evening for pick-up. We chose Cha Pa's because it was on my husband's way home from work and was available onDoorDash. I'll admit, I was a bit iffy at first with only 3.5 stars on Yelp but we gave it a shot, and I'm really glad we did. Here is everything we ordered: Vietnamese Spring Rolls - the spring roll skin was a bit chewy here but the filling wasgood Bun Bo Hue (spicy lemongrass soup and added beef meatballs) - this was so flavorful and it was pretty spicy. There's lotsof bits of lemongrass on the bottom, which I don't think you're really supposed to eat, but everything else was great. Addingthe beef meatballs was a great move. Plus, not a lot of places even have BBH on the menu, so this was much appreciated Thit Ko(Vietnamese braised pork belly with egg, and added a sausage) - this was too oily for me but my husband enjoyed it. He alsoloves rice and pork belly so I'm sure any rice + pork belly is better than no rice + pork belly Large Beef Pho Broth - we justordered the broth because we thought getting a regular pho with everything would be too much food, and this was the best move.We got to try the broth itself, which is the most important part and it was great. LOTS of bone marrow flavor so if you don'tlike bone marrow, this isn't for you Grilled Pork Banh Mi - not the greatest banh mi but better than most average banh mis I'vehad. If you're craving one, this will do Everything was packaged perfectly, and was intact and still hot after a 40 min-ishtrip back home. They even gave us packets (instead of little cups) of sriracha and hoisin, which was really convenient, sincethese can sometimes pop open and spill. Cha Pa's really thought it through. Would definitely order again! Read more
