Delicious!! Great flavors and interesting combinations that pair really well together. The arepas are a bit smaller than others... I've had from different restaurants, but they are overflowing with the different ingredients and are very filling. The side ofsweet plantain with mozzarella was perfection! Read more

Easy-to-miss hole in the wall next to Barn Joo. If you look only at the scaffolding and the surrounding enclosures for dining,... it is too easy to miss Costas, and that is a shame. They offer arepas, both build your own and with pre-made selections. Thepremades feature flavors from non-traditional additions like French fries and coleslaw, since their Modus operandi is to uniteand bridge cultures through arepas. It is ambitious and often difficult. However, they manage to achieve some great bites. Iordered the Francois and Mrs. Cheng, the respectively French and Asian inspired arepas. The François comes with beef and Pommesfrites while Mrs. Cheng has a fried cutlet with sauce reminiscent of Peking duck, and slaw. They also had sancocho stew that myfriend ordered and I had some. The arepa dough is masa, first and foremost, and you can smell a slight sweetness from the corn. They make them fresh and so the wait is a bit longer. The texture is crumbly compared to wheat flour because it isgluten-free. The Francois was decent. Unfortunately, I felt it was lacking in flavor, though there was a generous portion ofmeat. There was no flavor from the potatoes, which could have used some salt. The peppercorn sauce didn't really taste ofanything. Mrs. Cheng was much better in terms of flavor, with strong sweet and slightly tangy notes. The meat was thin and friedso it can feel a bit tough. The slaw and sauce help to make it not too dry. It's messier to eat, but it was good. The sancochostew was filled with meat, avocado, and came with rice. It was piping hot and great for a cold day. The thickness was decent. However, I felt it was underseasoned and lacking in some spice or salt. Overall, this is a nice hidden place to pick up someunique food. They do not have seating, so all food is pretty much take out. Their packaging is fun. The price is also not badfor two arepas considering the price of other ethnic foods in the area. Read more

I?m pretty picky about my arepas but I have to say they (1 order includes 2 arepas) were the perfect amount of stuffed and... juicy. I?m definitely coming back to try their other options! Even though they don?t have any seating options, you can easily goto nearby Herald Square and enjoy your food/drink there. Read more

This little hole in the wall :) has one of the best little arepas I've tried, El Che*, La Flaca, Pepiada worth the wait. They... make it by hand on the spot - give yourself 10-15 minutes for the order. Haven't had delicious arepas like these in awhile. Pleasant staff, clean, courteous, a bit pricey - but I noticed their meat is grass fed. Moist (not soggy or way hardarepas) just right. Small size arepa -2 per order saved the hunger, small but filling! *steak lovers full with flavor, plainlydelish! Read more

I love this place ! Everything is fresh and the combinations they have are very tasty and flavorful. My favorite is actually the... soup !! One of the best soups I've ever had and it is my go to place when I'm in the mood for soup in the area. The reason why igive this place 4 stars not five is 1- because the arepas are very small for the price, 2 arepas for 14 dollars and it's thesame size as a small taco. 2 are enough for me but for most people 2 arepas and a side or soup would be perfect. 2-it takes10-15 min if no one is there, 20 to 25 min during a lunch rush, so you have to order ahead if you have limited time. 3- it'sone of few places in the area with no seating at all. Delicious Colombian food. The Dominican guy is very friendly and helpful. If you have cash probably won't have change but you... can pay with credit card. The Ajiaco for almost $6 is great and complete, the arepas are a little small but the taste isdelicious.100% recommended! Read more
