I am fond on every FONDA restaurant in NYC and I am particularly fond of FONDA TriBeCa. Fonda’s new space is contemporary... while capturing the color and magic of the discerning Mexican modern design. FONDA’s food is delicious. We ordered ourfavorites: Guacamole, tacos al pastor, the outstandingly scrumptious “zarape de pato “ and fell in love with a new one forus, “sopa de tacos”. Roberto’s Santibanez’s “sopa de tortilla” has been a staple at our home through his cook book, but after delighting in Roberto’s “sopa de tacos” , we are rethinking the tortilla soup. It’s a joy to eat a perfectsize flauta with the perfect crunch that melts in the mouth with the yummy green caldo. For main course we had the outstandingcarnitas and the mouth watering “mole negro” with duck. Cocktails were superb. I have a new favorite, the spicy margarita. Istrongly recommend the scrumptious desserts accompanied by a shot mezcal. The service was personal and outstanding! We can’twait to go back. Thank you Marco and Roberto for this AMAZING Fonda location! ???? Read more

What a great first visit we enjoyed at La Fonda last night! First off, all the staff was super friendly and offered great advice... about the menu (there were so many entrees that looked good, we needed some steering!). Drinks: Hibiscus frozen drink wasgorgeous to look at and just delicious. S. Blanc from Mexico was another good pick. Made to order guacamole to start was amust! Huge chunks of fresh avocado and you could choose your spice level. Entrees: The grilled red snapper special (difficultto find this fish on menus) and Camarones Adobados (shrimp over spicy green rice and black bean sauce, which I requested to beless spicy, thanks!). Fresh blue homemade tortillas (I woke up wanting these badly!). Thank you for offering these. Justmouthwatering! Dessert: We were too full, but next time it will be the choc. tres leches cake, in case you arewondering). Note: everything had a complex flavor and you could taste the love put into cooking the dish! Read more

The kitchen was open to making dishes vegetarian. Great atmosphere and service. Great alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Food... was good as well. I wish there was more light in the restaurant, when we were there's around 4 PM it felt kind of dark butdefinitely not a deal breaker in any way. We had been to the Chelsea location last year and this one in Tribeca felt markedlybetter, at least in terms of service. Read more
