Reviews for Forsythia in New York, NY

With a casual ambiance and a classy touch, Forsythia delivers amazing pasta dishes without any pomp. One downside was that the... place was pretty cramped. You couldn’t push your chair back to stand up without running into the person sitting at the tablebehind you. We were in the workshop-looking section of the restaurant. Maybe the other section is roomier. Overall I’drecommend this place and I’d go back for more spectacular pasta but I’d love to see them providing more comfort for theguests. Read more

All the food was good, but no single dish awed me, and I felt the same about the dessert. The set menu was fun in a group where... we could taste most dishes. The wine was expensive. The service was effective and friendly. Read more

Forsythia was a delicious multi-course experience. We went in for the premix frix menu for a birthday surprise, and we’re... taking through an abundance of flavors. The ravioli cheese and mushroom combo was a particular standout among many standouts, aswas the short rib stuffed pasta. The desserts were delicious as well. The blueberry gelato was yummy and unique, and thepistachio covered cake was a favorite of mine. We left satisfied but not overly full, and I can say that this is easily some ofthe best pasta in the city. Few contenders exist, and even then Forsythia stands among them. Worth the visit! Excellent spot, the tasting menu is worth every penny and each dish was delicious. The star was the short rib agnolotti and the... spaghetti and clams. The homemade focaccia was also incredible. Staff was friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that Iwish the portions were a tiny bit larger, we wanted a little more of each dish! Read more

Excellent meal and service. This is a 5 course prix-fixe menu with plenty of options. We basically split everything so I tasted... 10 different things. The server was great at answering questions on the menu and telling us about the food and wine. If youwant to try excellent pasta come here. The only critique would be the pomodoro sauce for the rigotoni. The pasta itself wasgreat, but this dish didn’t have the same taste factor that all the other pasta dishes had Read more

I had the best dinner at Forsythia. I heard making a reservation is very hard, but my lucky friend got us a table for two. The... staffs were welcoming and friendly. Our server was attentive and excellent! Foods were amazing. My friend and I enjoyed everybite of our dining room prix fixe. Homemade focaccia is delicious. Our server offered another round of it when we just finishedour carbonara, and we of course had to have it. It was well spent $75pp course dinner. Hope I can come back again soon. Read more

Intimate outside dining setup. They have indoor seating as well and lots of tables, it is hard to get a reservation. Once you do... it is worth it. Pasta dishes you cannot not enjoy. Even something as "simple" as the fresh focaccia bread with butter andricotta spread. I could have that over and over again. Read more

Everyone in my party loved dinner. Raved about it. New menu is great. Hones in on what they did so well prior to the change to... the prix fixe menu, while adding some new dishes that fit the ethos of the restaurant. With the new menu, there was a perfectamount of food. New music they are playing is awesome which totally changed the vibe. Can't wait to return! So yummy. P.S.everything was delicious but the Carbonara was to die for! Read more
