You can't do better in FiDi, period. Especially if you love Irish whiskey. They always have a Midleton on offer. Very rare, even... in Manhattan. Historic, surprisingly spacious, steeped in legendary stories. I love this place. Updated to add: had my firstmeal here and it was awesome! A great fish and chips dinner, with a perfect scotch egg appetizer and some fried cauliflower toboot. Everything was delicious! Read more

Honestly, I loved just about everything about Fraunces. The history alone is incredible, but I really wasn't expecting the food... and experience to be so fantastic. I had my first Scotch egg which was delicious. We had the fish and chips (fries) and arustic spicy chorizo sandwich. We also tried the Truffle Parmesan Fries which were outstanding. They had a live jazz quartetthat sounded amazing and, quite frankly, jazz is not my favorite. We went because of the connection to Alexander Hamilton, butI'd return for the food and atmosphere alone! Steeped in history and conveniently located in the heart of Wall Street, Fraunces Tavern is worth a visit for the atmosphere... alone. The dining area has quite a lot of character and the food is alright, if a bit pricy for what you get. 2 apps and 2 mainsquickly added up. Service is quick and good. Their bar area had quite the selection and was very lively. Overall, I’d probablyrecommend this place more for a drink than for dinner. Read more

This place was super cool if you like history. My head was turning in all directions just looking at all of the history. Every... room is amazing and you feel like George Washington is going to come around the corner. We only stopped in for a drink and asnack. We mostly wanted to see the place. We tried the scotch egg and it was probably one of the best I’ve tried. Usually theyare kind of dry but this one was moist, cooked well and had a great flavor. Our server was better than most NY servers we’veexperienced on our trip. She actually talked to us, made good recommendations and returned to see how we were doing. She eventold us they have live music and we should come back. Overall it was a nice experience and I bet it would be a fun place tohangout if I were a local. Read more

Historical lunch stop. Traditional decor, standard lunch fair. Wait staff seemed a little understaffed. Had a lunch reservation,... arrived early and they were able to seat us. Bar area has a fireplace with a library feel, well stocked with rare, expensivewhiskey and other liquors. Neat tourist stop. Read more

Excellent customer service. Our waitress was very smiley and friendly all the time. I was a bit hesitant in the beginning to... order Salmon in a bar, but this was incredibly tasty! Very flavorful; the purée was perfect! Great vibe, a bit loud, but thereare other areas inside of the Tavern where it is more private and less noise. Highly recommend this place! Read more

Ambiance and character abound. Great music, great depth in the drink menu. The staff was attentive but not pushy. They were... uniformly polite and authentic. I was underwhelmed by the food. My Ruben was so so. The fries with truffles were amazing, butthe Mac and cheese was simply boring. Go for the music, go for the drinks, go for great service. I would not go out of my wayfor the food.
