Very creative and varied. They paid careful attention to the non-sushi dishes: the tuna tartare with caviar and the ikura over... rice were especially great. The sushi was also amazing, as expected. Read more

Traveling to NYC for the first time and booked here to try a Michelin-starred omakase restaurant. The attached images were the... entire course worth $200 a person. I feel like compared to a lot of other non-Michelin-starred omakase restaurants, there's nottoo much special about this one. During a serving, when the waiter mentioned that this was our last course, we all were verysurprised since we basically ate like nothing. The sushi was delicious, but there's still nothing special and we all expectedmore from this experience. The ending mango sorbet with wasabi didn't work too well either. All in all, the food wasn't bad atall but it's just not worth it for such an expensive price point. Read more

Impressive edomae styled Omakase dinner. Innovative selections on par with most top tier sushi places. Glad to finally eat some... sushi in New York. Pair it with some good sake for a superb meal. Lucky to sit in front of the main chef. Read more

I came here on a Friday night with reservations at the chef's table. There is no obvious sign outside the restaurant but we... found it nonetheless. Although we showed up about 10 minutes early, our seats were ready and waiting for us. The servicestarted fairly quickly. We enjoyed a citrusey sake. I highly recommend it and could have had several glasses. The time betweeneach plate was perfectly timed. I enjoyed watching the talented chef's work their magic. They even took the time to explainwhere each piece came from. The wait staff was attentive and ready to help when necessary. Although the food was top notch, Iwould say that the service is what made the night for us. Would highly recommend and am looking forward to returning next timeI am in NYC. Read more

There's many other better Omakase's in NY at a fraction of the price. As others have pointed out here in the reviews, there are... several other Omakase's here in NY that are a fraction of the price, are not Michelin starred, and provide superior experiences. For example, Moko in the East Village you'll receive a far superior meal at roughly $80-100 per person. Paying ~$250 for aperson, I expect that this should be a memorable meal. What I would say would be far from that - there were several pieces ofomakase that I had to chase down with water or my drink in order to eat. The flavour profiles are all bland and notdifferentiated between pairings. I would advise others to choose wisely before picking here assuming that the quality of themeal will be great as it received a Michelin star. Read more

Food was decent to good except for the chawanmushi, which was very bland. I've had better experience elsewhere such as Ginza... Onodera and didn't find this place outstanding. Read more

My first omakase. It was okay. Not much to say. You can see some pretty photos though. The pieces were adequate. The chef was... friendly. The waitstaff was good enough. Maybe some of the fish was special? Well I didn't taste much of it (omakase = smallbites after all). Fresh though. And good showmanship from the chef. You're here for the experience and not really the food. Itwas good. Nothing memoriable. Nothing special. Nothing bad though. Just average dining for a hefty price. Read more

Always an enjoyable time when coming here. It was a lot busier last night than I'm used to, but that did not take away from the... experience. The food was amazing as to be expected and the servers were so attentive which was not surprising but consideringhow busy they were says a lot about the kosaka team. Paul and Kyle are always so accommodating if you need any last minutechanges like changing a sushi piece from the omasake options or maybe you notice the menu is different and something you onceordered is no longer available; their recommendations are on point. Oh and let's not forget if you ever forget what you hadduring your last visit....believe me you ask and they will remember. Many thanks to everyone who makes every experiencememorable really looking forward to our next visit! Read more
