I can never say enough wonderful things about Le Gigot. We had our Wedding Anniversary dinner there last week and as always it... was a night to remember. I rave about this lovely restaurant often for a reason. The excellent cuisine and lovely ambiencealways remain the same. My husband had the Rack of Lamb (his favorite). He said it was absolutely sumptuous. I had Coq au vinwhich was also delicious. For dessert we had the perfect sweet treat, Tarte Tatin. The wine list is a wine aficionado's dream.Our fabulous server, Daniel recommended a wine that we really enjoyed. Daniel's knowledge of fine wine is as good as anySommelier you could hope to meet. Of course, the success of this restaurant is owed to the beautiful owner/ host Pamela. Wehave all been through a lot over the past two years and thanks to her this restaurant has never veered off course. Theoutstanding chef and the welcoming staff (Daniel, Derrick and Andreus) will keep you coming back. By the way, it doesn't have tobe a special occasion to enjoy this lovely gem. They serve a wonderful brunch on weekends. We highly recommend Le Gigot. Wecan't wait to go back. Read more
I can't speak highly enough about this restaurant. The food and service were exquisite. Very nice menu selection with good... quality ingredients perfectly prepared.The outdoor dining was very, very nice - full shade cover and what looked like at leastpartial rain cover, comfortable seating with sufficient room for pedestrians to pass without crowding. Unfortunately a very forgettable meal for me. I came here for dinner. We were seated outdoors immediately. They have some... indoor seating - about 8 tables mostly for couples. Outside they have about 5 tables in the summer. The service was relativelyslow and since the menu didn't have too many options I was hoping all the food that they did they would do well. From menu toleaving we ordered about 3 dishes and it took 2.5 hours. At best the food was fresh but it wasn't either tasty or memorable. Itdidn't have either flavor complexity or interest in terms of ingredient combination. I would probably come here for a basic mealbut at the prices I expected something a little more upscale I suppose. We tried the heirloom tomato salad, the crab cake andthe ravioli. This is my new "favorite French place". It is really tiny with very authentic atmosphere of French Street Cafe, even the... building where it located is dated probably back to 19th century. And that is a limitation if you planning to have a dinner witha large group of people. But this is the only downside of this place. The food was simply delicious! Everything! Oysters,salad, soup, fries were just so good. But they had special of the day seafood risotto, that I have odred was just out of thisworld. It was so good, that two of my friends ordered it to go, despite been full and satisfied by their dishes. So Idefinitely recommend this place especially for a date night. Read more
Great boeuf Bourguignon. Hard to find! Very hard. Even in nyc. But what makes it extra special is that this street is quiet and... small, another rarity in NYC. not to mention the HOME of Taylor swifts penthouse she rented when first moving to nyc.
