This place is still good, so many years later. Its definitely pricey for what it is, which is a function of its location right... by central park, but service was top notch. Would definitely suggest getting a bunch of different pastas to share if you’re ina group. Was a big fan of the corn agnolotti-ish dish but the crowd pleaser was probably the octopus and bone marrow. Nice spotfor a splurge after work dinner or date night. Read more

My brother and I came here to celebrate his admission to UT. The service was remarkable but the taste didn’t match the price.... One of the oysters didn’t smell and taste well. Our server immediately changed it after he knew this. The bone marrowspaghetti is very oily and I recommend people order this after careful considerations. We didn’t order entrees after tastingthe spaghetti. The breads and desserts were the best in our meals. I love gelatos and the pine nut sauce! After all, it’s agood restaurant and maybe we hold way too high expectations after seeing those good reviews. Read more

It has been a dream of mine to dine at Marea for 3 years and the experience did not disappoint. Dan our waiter was lovely and... attentive and made the experience quite special for my father and I. Highlights of the meal were definitely the gnochetti withthe shrimp and the branzino. The olive oil cake was also very light which was a nice way to close out the meal. Only thing moreI could of asked for was a cappuccino but unfortunately their espresso machine was down but that is clearly circumstantial.Overall a truly amazing experience and will be dining again very soon! Exceptional service seems rare these days. So pleased that we spent our afternoon celebrations at Marea! We had a small wedding... service in Central Park and brought our little party of four to celebrate the occasion here. Everything from the service to theambiance—and of course, the food were exceptional. An excellent place to celebrate or just make it a special night ???? Read more

My husband and I were visiting NYC to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary. This was a great fine dining... experience, and if I could go back tomorrow, I would. There were wonderful menu options, some that we got to try, and some thatwe didn't, but they're on the list for next time. Highlights of our evening were the casarecce (entree) and the pavlova(dessert, pictured....and the picture doesn't do it justice..easily one of the best desserts I have ever had. I dream of thatdessert at night!). Service was top notch, and overall it was just a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. Read more

The dishes here have a wonderfully complex flavor palette! Everything tried was multidimensional and rich. The service was... extraordinary and the staff very friendly and polite. I waited a bit too long for my main chicken dish but other than that, everything was exceptional. It's a good place to have a business lunch or just to relax with some delicious pasta options. Amazing service. Brought our own bottle for a birthday dinner as well as our own cake. Everything from entering the restaurant... to leaving was exquisite, service wise. We ordered the lobster, oysters and octopus for our appetizers, and several other mainsfor a table of 2. Some dishes have a slightly saltier/heavier taste than we are accustomed to, but it was still delicious. Ourwaiter was great and the maitre d is always helpful with our requests. Read more

I’ve been going to Marea for about 10 years now and it’s one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. It has a big beautiful open... dining room with quite a bit of space in between tables. Lovely for date night or a special dinner with family. Went there forChristmas everything was delicious and our waiter was so kind! Read more
