My favorite Hainanese chicken in Manhattan. I've been coming here for about a year. Their chicken is just as good as similar... spots in Queens where I'm from. Great deal for a meal around the NYU area. They also started to sell french fries, chickenwings, potstickers, and spring rolls! Read more
Great value and awesome taste, the Hainanese chicken rice here is ?SECOND TO NONE? in the city. The chicken texture is silky and... tender like tofu, with almost perfect proportion of fat and lean meat. The house-made ginger sauce nicely highlights the umamiof the chicken flavor. The white pepper radish chicken soup that comes with the combo is also hearty. If you come in a groupand want some variety, this well-maintained hole-in-the-wall place also offers other authentic yet affordable dishes. Nothing less than 5 stars. One of my favorite chicken rice places, from Thailand to Singapore to NYC. The rice is very fragrant... and tasty, very authentic to how it's done in Thailand and Singapore. Steamed chicken is tender, while the fried chicken ismarinated well and flavorful, it's worth trying both if you can. Their ultimate trump card lies in the wonderful ginger saucethat goes with the rice and steamed chicken, something unique to Thailand (different from the ginger paste in Singapore). Thankyou to the lovely lady at the counter that day, it was such a nice homely chat, and I appreciate the extra serving of gingersauce to take home! Will be back! So good! Came here with my college friend from Singapore who said this place tasted really authentic. I loved how the rice was... flavored with broth and the chicken was cooked super tenderly. Rotating between the roasted chicken with rice and the daikon (mooli) soup is the most incredible comfort food experienceyou will ever have for $13. If you're feeling saucy, their spicy flavour wings are both juicy and crispy, and it's coatingreminds you of 'nice n spicy' flavoured nik naks. The servers are also super polite and friendly.
