We always stop by Ootoya to eat when we visit NYC. It was recommended by a Japanese friend. Delicious and authentic Japanese... food, great service and value. Beef sukiyaki nabe, tofu salmon nabe, beef potato croquette are our favorites. Read more
The food is really good. The portions are fair, enough to satisfy but not enough to get you very full, which is adequate. We heard that this restaurant was having a special lunch course in honor of their 10th anniversary and came to try it. It was... absolutely delicious! Every dish was great and by the end we were quite stuffed, really worth the price. I love every single dish in this set, staring from the uni... tofu appetizer to the unagi bowl, the sukiyaki and the three different kinds of grilled fish, and finishing with the sweet crownmelon. This place was perfect! Really worth the price. We ordered their $38 special that came with a variety of things, they were all... delicious. We also ordered 5 pieces of crispy rice sushi which was a must. The slices of fish were thick and melted in yourmouth. Wanted to compliment the aesthetics of their dishes as well, the presentation was neat. The service was also superfriendly and non-intimidating. I will be coming back for sure!! Read more
