Actually probably my favorite place in the city. A good Bindi is hard to find.

I’m a neighbor who lives on the same block. Raj had a group of several diners sitting outside until 12 am shouting, drunk and... making a ton of noise all night. NYC noise ordinances have a rule against excessive noise after 10 pm. I and several neighborshad to call 311 to deal with this. There are signs also posted by our buildings about it. Complete disregard for theirneighbors. Read more

Worst experience I have ever had in my life. All the food came out burnt and we had to send every single dish back. Then it all... came back cold to the touch like it just came out of the fridge. On the third try they just tossed the frozen stuff in themicrowave and served it . We left and are all feeling sick currently. NEVER COME HERE!!! Read more

I can't believe I'm writing a 2 star review for one of my favorite Indian restaurants on the lower east side of Manhattan, in a... pandemic. Let me preface by saying I've eaten here at least a dozen times, never inside, only once outside, recently. I used torun a restaurant very close, and we would crave Indian and order from here using a delivery system. Anyway, I ordered a takeoutorder recently, and long story short, I stepped inside to pay & pick it up. What i saw was mind boggling to the point where Icouldn't bring myself to even touch the bag that the food came in (mind you, after I panicked inside, ran out to the car, atall, apron clad gentleman, unmasked, followed me to said car and knocked on my window). Things I witnessed: -First, a veryweird phone call asking what exactly I ordered. -Un-maksed employees washing dishes & packing our food. -The sound of amicrowave and then the pro-style testing of how hot said item was with the un-gloved finger test. I can't determine if saidfinger made it to the chefs mouth, but I would bet bet yes. -Un-gloved hands transferring tainted naan into tin foilpackaging -a space so cramped and untidy that i wouldn't prepare any food near it I just want this place to step their game upand realize that they are doing a terrible injustice to the food I would normally be so excited to eat. Never again Raj. I'm sosorry. Sweet baby Jesus. What a way to start 2021. Read more

Easily my favorite restaurant in the area since Gulshan and Sonali closed years ago. I stopped in on Friday and as always, the... food was fresh and tasty. I had a veggie vindaloo and papadam. Chatted with the very friendly hostess, Veena and the owner, who's name I don't know but always comes out to greet me and talk when I come in,and ask about my partner if I am alone. Weoften dine there together, actually it was our first date we had there, many years ago. Read more

This has been our go-to Indian restaurant for years, but since we now have to go through Seamless etc to order, we have been... disappointed - not in the food but in the service. I am very angry to have had a large order cancelled at the last minute withalmost no notification. By the time we found out, it was too late to order from elsewhere. I realize the COVID-19 virus haschanged a lot of things, especially order times, but if there is a problem, we should have been notified by telephone. Or - andthis would be better - we should not have been able to place the order at all if they were not going to deliver it. I am verydisappointed in this restaurant and in Seamless. I will certainly consider trying out another Indian restaurant instead ofsticking to an old favorite that won't stick with me. Read more

This place has been there for a very long time. It is one of the last. Of the traditional Indian restaurants in the area that... used to be full of them. The food is very good decent sized portions and a cozy fun atmosphere. The service is very good andattentive. It's a great place to gather with some friends and Chow Down. Read more

Hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in NY. I've lived here my whole life and never had better samosas. What really makes... this place a slice of heaven are the deserts. Their Rasmalai is aromatic and creamy perfection. And their halva is perfectlysweet and very fresh. Read more
