Red Rooster has been on my restaurant bucket list and I finally had the opportunity to dine there on a trip to New York with my... daughter. It’s conveniently located right next to a subway station. Red Rooster exceeded my expectations. The decor was aninteresting and eclectic celebration of Blackness. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Although they didn’thave a children’s menu, there was no shortage of items for my 6 year old to enjoy. My cocktail was amazing. If I wasn’t onmom duty, I would have had tried 1 or 2 other drinks on the menu. There was live music on a Monday night. It was everything thatI wanted my Harlem dining experience to be. Read more

The crispy bird sandwich was fantastic, as were the fries. Juicy, crispy, great flavor. The bun was warm and lightly toasted.... Perfection. The grits were good but would’ve been better with some cheese, garlic, green onion, and/or bacon. It was on theplain side, and the shrimp were over cooked, maybe previously frozen? Service at the bar was indifferent. We weren’t offereda choice of side with the crispy bird sandwich — waitress didn’t bother asking. Which is fine, but at the end she chose 20%tip for us on the payment device and gave us only the option of signing, not choosing the tip. Is that even allowed? Also thebar area smelled foul — of rotting spilled milk, maybe? Needs a good cleaning! Read more

I had really high hopes for this restaurant as the reviews highly recommended. We arrived and it was easy to find and the staff... and customer service was great. The inside ambiance was nice but nothing overwhelming. The shrimp and grits had a differentspin with chorizo added however was very good along with the cornbread. My family had the chicken and waffles (their first timeever) and the chicken was very dry and overcooked. The waffle was dry as well with not much flavor. The maple syrup was reallythe staple for this dish. It was a nice one time visit. Not sure if it would be my go to spot for Harlem but would be willingto give it a second chance to check out the bar and outside seating area. Read more

This place has been on my restaurant bucket list for so long. It certainly did not disappoint. Marcus is always so creative and... talented on the Food Network and finally I can say his dishes are as good as they look. Everything was top notch. I never sawrestaurant staff so on point. Tending to our every needs immediately and showing a real passion for their occupation. Thecocktails are unique and wonderful and if you go there, order the fried chicken. It was the best I ever had. Everything on themenu was either new to me, or a combination I never tried before. Collard green Mac and cheese is something I would never evenimagine but it was stellar. Even the dipping sauces made me question each dunk. They were THAT good. I couldn't be happier withmy experience here and it was Everything and more I could hope for. Read more

I cannot say enough good stuff about this Harlem institution!! The staff was beyond happy, helpful & just fun to talk to. The... vibe is extremely chill, the music was all 90s hip hop (totally my generation!) and the food is absolutely phenomenal!!! Nomatter what you order I highly suggest getting a few pieces of their a la carte fried chicken!! We went for my husband'sbirthday & the dessert was house-made donuts with the most delicious drizzles on top! We loved our experience & will definitelybe back!!! Read more

A great restaurant in the heart of Harlem. If you are in New York take a quick trip up to Harlem. You will not be disappointed.... All of the meals were prepared perfectly. Everyone's meals were seasoned and cooked just as each of us ordered. Our waitresswas fabulous. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. The entire staff created a very welcoming atmosphere. Really amazing food, we had such a variety and seasoning and taste were always on point. I even had the devil's egg around... afternoon, which I don't like eating eggs after 12 and they were amazing, so soft and just melt in your mouth. ALL the food was10/10, the freshness of it 10/10, the flavor of it 10/10 the drinks even non-alcoholic ones were 10/10, the service was 10/10,the place itself is so unique, so much to look at and learn 10/10, the ambience 10/10 it's a great experience overall, greatbeing short adjective to describe it. The herbs they use on cocktails or non alcoholic beverages they grow right there, you cansee them and everything is just so fresh. So much more good things, great things to say about this place. HUGE variety of food, drinks and even nice tea and honey! If you are in the area, even visiting is a spot you definitely have to go, I will even dareto say just separate a day to go there and enjoy!!!
