The outdoor seating was nice as it provided a semi private space perfect for small groups. I really enjoyed the calamari... appetizer with the white dip. Plenty of calamari and not too heavily breaded. The sausage pizza was large and filling but I wishit could hold its shape better. Overall good food Read more

To me, coming on a Wednesday night I was really surprised how many customers were here until I realized how good it the service... was. First, my server was so kind and attentive. He checked in an appropriate amount without seeming disruptive. Then the foodcame out pretty quick (even with it being busy). Even some of the pasta dishes are made with in-house pasta. Then the restaurantmanager came to make sure everything was good at our table. He was also really nice and seemed to really care that we weresatisfied. I don't often write reviews but honestly I felt like this place really tried and I will definitely be coming back. Read more

Absolutely fantastic pizza and pasta. Unreal how good the sausage picante pizza is. It’s just flying under the radar in this... sleepy part of Manhattan. Unreal flavor and freshness. The squid ink pasta was excellent. Highly recommend getting one pizza andone pasta if dining for two. Read more

Came here today for dinner with a couple friends. It’s across the street from our job so we’ve been here a few times, but... todays the first time since the pandemic I think. I always got the pizza in the past so figured I would try their spicy vodkarigatoni today. It was really good, the pasta was a tad bit hard but not a big issue. We also got the arugula salad to share butI forgot to take a picture of that — delicious as well. We also got cocktails and they were delicious. My only critique is whydoes that happy hour END at 5pm?? It’s until 6pm at the bar but I remember in the past it being longer in the dining room.Seems counterproductive for a nice Italian spot in FiDi that attracts a lot of corporate patrons. Read more

Highly recommend! Short walk from the hotel we were staying at. We did make a reservation, but didn't seem like it would have... been a long wait even if we hadn't. We chose to sit outside in our own private little area that was probably created due toCOVID. It was REALLY nice. The service was great, the food came fast, and was delicious!! Everything was so fresh tasting, andcooked to perfection. Read more

Our excitement to try out the pizzas here was definitely washed out after seeing our wonderfully “watered down” pizza. Have... had plenty of wood fired ones to know this was sub par to say the least. When we checked in with our server about this , wewere told it’s because they use “ fresh vegetables “ not sure if that’s the reason why the crust was also stone hardenough to take your tooth off. The pizzeria for us was certainly not one bit worthy of the hype it has. Read more

After visiting the World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial, we were looking for a nice meal nearby and a Google search result for... Sauce and Barrel caught our eye. It's just a short walk from WTC and close to the Battery. Upon arrival, we were attracted tothe outdoor seating in a private little shed with heat. The space was well appointed with fall decor and very comfortable. Theoverhead heat lamp is very effective and also offers a warm glow to the table atmosphere. Service by Gerry was phenomenal. Everything was well timed with the utmost pleasant friendliness. Our group of five ordered the salmon risotto, which both thesalmon and the risotto were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I ordered the chicken Marsala: I was amazed at theportions, the sauce and the fact they that left the skin on the seemingly whole chicken. Two ordered Margherita pizzas whichwere devoured quickly. The fifth got spaghetti and meatballs, which despite its simplicity was still presented with as much careas the higher end dishes. My wife enjoyed the sangria and I loved the 2-for-1 Happy Hour IPA beers. This will be one of thosememorable meals from our visit to NYC. Read more
