This is a very middling place, and the 5* reviews surprise me a lot because nothing here really blew me away apart from the lack... of a tipping culture. The chefs paid inconsistent attention to detail - the seaweed in the handroll was roasted to a crisp butthe rice was flakey, with rice grains falling off easily. Fish and crab did not taste the freshest but it wasn't unfresh.Waitstaff were not the most audible when explaining the dishes either, and even after repeating themselves we could not reallyhear them so half the time we had to make a guess about what we were eating. Also, our ginger plates went empty for about 15minutes before being filled, only upon our asking. Would not be back but I did not dislike this place either. I'm slightlydisappointed only because I had high expectations for this place, but if I were to suspend my expectations, it's very mediocre. As a friend commented, "It's like office food - not amazing but it does the job and feeds me." Think I'd pay the $30-40 extra tohead to a proper omakase spot with a counter chef, better service and the freshest sashimi. Read more

I would absolutely go again. Location is clean. Experience is straightforward and enjoyable. I was full with the $50 trust me... option but my partner needed an extra dish. Read more

This is one of the best sushi experience you can get in New York for this price. Simple nigiri and handroll style sushi, so if... you're into large complex rolls with many ingredients this is not the place for you. However, if you're into deliciously freshfish and are comfortable with a chefs selection, you absolutely must try this place. The no tips on top of all this is a greatpolicy that I strongly support, as I believe restaurants should be paying staff themselves. Overall, one of my favoriterestaurant in New York! Read more

Really was looking forward to trying this place, I'm a huge fan of sushi. Went there for a birthday and while I was happy with... the quality of sushi served, I was honestly surprised with of service we received. The first issue occurred when a dish was notserved to one person in our party. We had to ask twice for them to bring it to us and wait over 10 min. It's never a goodfeeling having people waiting for you to be served. After this they began to clean our table, and we told them we never receivedour final roll. Lastly, one person in our party realized they also were never served a roll that should have been brought tothem at the start of the meal. I had to ask twice to get a manger to solve our issue. We received a light discount for ourtrouble. The thing is, I really wanted to like this spot. I heard such good things and I'm not sure what happened to us thatday. It's left a really bad taste and with hundreds of other high quality sushi spots in this city. I'm not sure I'll be back. Read more

Been dying to try sugar fish and finally made it into the city. It absolutely did not disappoint. Everything was DELICIOUS. That... warm sushi rice hits different. All of the fish tasted so fresh. Some of the best sushi I have ever had and I eat sushi all ofthe time. Read more

Love this place! I'm not an adventurous sushi eater at all so I get nervous eating off of preselected menus. But this place has... yet to disappoint me! Their "Trust Me" selection is fantastic. I recommend this place to everyone I know that eats sushi. Stilltrying to get my husband to come here and try the raw fish, even though he's hesitant, but I'm certain he'll like it! They havean a la carte menu too but I haven't tried anything off of it yet. My favorite thing so far? The salmon selections. And the bestpart is that it's a no-tipping restaurant, so everything is included in the price! Read more

This place was amazing. One of the best sushi I had by far. The omakase was a work of art and made me so happy. The server was... knowledgeable, friendly, and explained every piece of fish. He was so attentive and passionate. He made our experience somemorable. The customer service was beyond excellent. We asked for drink recommendations, and each drink we had paired perfectlywith our sushi. I would recommend that you eat here at least once if you?re in NYC. I will go back next time I?m in NYC.
