This is one of those places, we are Omakase, it’s probably the way to go. Here are a few pictures from this evening. The... fatty tuna was amazing, and so was the salmon. The eel was wow ????, and my only regret was there was no more octopus ??????????????? The seaweed salad and the miso soup ???? amazing ???? All in all - fantastic evening Read more

My girlfriend and I came here on a whim, and we were not disappointed. We loved this place. The waitress was very attentive &... made for a pleasant night out. This place is unique, and I highly recommend it to anybody! We even got lucky & made friends withthe table beside us for the night. An amazing restaurant with amazing food, I would recommend this restaurant to any andeverybody! It’s amazing, with swift service. Will be returning! The waitress is very informative which made the experiencethat much better! 10/10. Note: They don’t accept Discover, only VISA. Read more

The tuna of gari is a staple, with 6 different tuna nigiri plus a roll. The eel avocado roll and nigiri are very strong, as is... anything with their tofu sauce. This is the original modern Omakase, and while there are better options if you want to spendover $100, this is still a great spot for the $50-$80 range Read more

DELICIOUS!! My husband and I made a reservation for 2 at 6pm on a Wednesday night. I highly recommend making reservations... because they can get busy. The servers were very attentive and knowledgeable. Everything was super clean and the sushi wasreally fresh. I thought the price point was very affordable. We did a-la-carte and thought that it was totally worth theprice. We ordered the Gari Special which consisted of 8 different fish. Each were all tender and fresh. They were also with soysauce and wasabi so we were advised not to dip it in additional wasbai/soy sauce. Each bite was delicious and the fish were meltin my mouth good. Their cut rolls were SO good. I kept reaching for more and more even if I was so full. My favorite was theFatty Tuna roll with scallions. I could probably eat that every day. ALSO, their uni from Japan was delicious!!! It wasn't very"fishy" compared to other places that get them from a lower quality place. Their uni was creamy and rich in flavor. OK- Ihonestly had a really great time at Sushi of Gari. Price point was good, sushi was fresh, the servers were super attentive, overall a really great time. I cant wait to go back for some more of their Fatty Tuna roll. Read more

This is probably the best restaurant option in the Theatre District ????. The buildout is of a very traditional sushi... restaurant: brightly lit, clean and cozy. The sushi is extremely fresh and delicious. Our server was attentive and wasmeticulous in arranging our plates on the table so that we could comfortably share our sushi, sashimi and sake. Everything wasexecuted perfectly and we were in-and-out in time for our show! Read more

I have to say I was very disappointed with them after all these years of going to this restaurant. Ive been to all of their... locations since more than 8 years ago or so and I used to love them. I haven’t been there for over a year and decided to stopby as Covid situation is calming down, and ended up to be the last time I will ever visit. Service was unbelievably terrible.Waitress was keep pushing us to make decision (though we didn’t take that long) and even asked us to forcefully finish thepieces so she can put next plate instead of her making observation to judge the right timing to bring next dish. Made mistake inthe order as well. Quality of sushi itself went down in my opinion as well. There were half cooked rice mixed in the sushi ricewhich should never happen. Fishes were ok but Uni was very so so. I understand it’s not a top sushi restaurant though it’snot that casual either. I expect better quality and service for $125 for 12 piece omakase. Read more
