Love the service here. Oysters are very flavorful and the chief sashimis the oyster meat to small pieces. Chutoro has a bit... chewy tender which would be great if it can be removed. BTW, love the clean restroom a lot! Read more

Incredible spot yet lowkey enough for same-day reservations/walk-ins. Did the premium sushi omakase at $130/pp which I found a... great deal for the level of quality and amount of servings (including fatty toro, two servings of uni, and snow crab). Read more
We had a friend in town and wanted to get omakase in the city. With our 5 year old, we usually are not allowed to sit at the bar... but Sushi Ryusei made an exception. We sat at the corner of the sushi bar and were able to see everything which was great. Wegot 3 omakase, an app, and our son got his salmon sushi. It was great that he was served first and he loved it. We reallyenjoyed our omakase. The stand outs were a hokkaido scallop+uni sauce on top, a firefly squid, and a cooked crab sushi. It was an incredible experience. The chef was very attentive and so was his supportive staff. The quality was amazing. Cannot... recommend more. The cost for omakase, combined with the reviews, attracted me to try Ryusei. Compared with the $200 and up omakase options in... the area, I don't think one can ask for anything more. Premium omakase includes an app and a side dish. Phenomenal sakeselection, Japanese Asahi on tap, a mind towards traditional flavors with slight flair (The two mackerel nigiri were thefreshest tasting I've ever had), attentive service, hot tea on request, understated yet elegant decor with well lit tables,regulars coming up to the counter to say gochisousama... Perfect. I am obligated to visit Sushi Ryusei during every visit to NYin the future. Read more
Wow, unexpected greatness! Only expectation was set by a somewhat difficult location entwined in the tunnel traffic this spot... was excellent. I had the Salmon Don and my daughter has a couple of rolls. Quality was over the top in all aspects. Read more
