They make you feel so uncomfortable throughout your dining experience trying to sell you additional items. It feels like your... dodging sales calls constantly. The part that was most inappropriate was that our waiter asked us if we liked the beer, which wereplied yes to - he then snuck up on us and opened a additional large bottle and started pouring it into our glasses withoutasking. We were confused not knowing if he was just being nice. He did charge us for it (22 dollars). This was not a moment ofmiscommunication, he knew exactly what he was doing, forcing drinks onto people and pouring it before people can say no. Thefood is way overpriced. Scammers. Read more

First things first, their naan is one of the best naans from NYC. So soft that it just melted in the mouth. The masala &... marinade used for Mutton boti kebab made it quite delicious; but it could have been more softer, would taste best. Curries werea little tangier than required but still were pretty solid. Gobi manchurian and Samosa chat was average. Also, one rice portionserved for 2 curries. Pricey comapred to the quantity served. Good service. Read more

The spices and flavors speak to some authentic Indian cuisine. The best part of this small place is their combo meals which are... fantastic for the price (appetizer, main). We were in a party of three. The place itself is small and you can miss it walkingby, but it’s definitely worth a stop. Good quality and thoughtful presentation Read more

Small place, but great food. I had the Aloo Tiki Chat as appetizer and a Saag Paneer as main, with a garlic naan. It was quite... a lot of food for one. Read more

Fantastic place with outstanding service. We have not had great Indian food in awhile. I spotted this place from across the... street. This is a small restaurant but not a problem. We had a lunch special that consists of a salad, appetizer, main courseand Naan bread. The vindaloo was spicy that I loved. I couldn't finish my lunch but found room for rice pudding. We packaged theremaining items for a snack later. Read more

Swagat is located amongst the cluster of restaurants on the UWS. I stopped by on a Thursday night around seven for dinner. It... was pretty busy at the restaurant but there were a few empty tables available. The interior was tiny and narrow, but the tableswere very efficiently laid out. One of the customers was unintentionally blocking the door when I arrived but the serverimmediately took notice of my confusion and opened the door for me to get seated. We got seated at the back of the restaurant, which was nice since it was distanced out from other parties. I got the bhagare baingan and a side of naan. My dish was a wholebaby egg plant simmered in spices and coconut milk. The food came out pretty fast. I quickly ripped up the naan and ate it withmy dish. The naan was soft, warm and had just the right amount of crusty exterior which contrasted nicely with the doughyinside. There were four pieces of naan. The eggplant dish itself was flavorful, but probably more muted than other dishes on themenu. Portion sizes were ok, but nothing to be blown away about. I actually finished my dish rather than having to take anyleftovers home! Overall it was a pleasant dining experience with top notch super super attentive staff. Read more

Went there on Thursday night, cool ambience, I really liked Indian music on the background. We only had chicken dishes like... Chicken Curry and Chicken Shani Korma along with a garlic nun, which was deeeelicious as usual. Whenever I go to Indianrestaurant I order Lassi, and it was so yummy. Read more
