Good Restaurant. The 4 course menu is a good choice for US$75 + $30 for wine matching each course. The food is not incredible,... but it is good, the service is amazing and the view is nice. Reserve prior hand. Read more

I had the $55 prix fixe brunch and I think it was excellent: delicious, creative and beautiful, befitting the Met and a good... value for the context. Service is pleasant and attentive. It is a formal dining room however - in no way stuffy or snooty, justnot my style. I miss the airier, lighter, dotted-with sculpture Petrie Court (still around, but self service pre made food),which feels more of a piece with the museum's contents instead of elevated for the taste of wealthier donors (whom Iappreciate!). Not a criticism, just painting the picture I perceive. (June 2019 review edited to fix a typo) Read more

I can't tell you what was better, the food, the views, or the service - all top notch, very fitting for The Met. Reserve in... advance, they close 1 hour before the museum does. Read more

Reading the reviews, I see that The Dining Room was probably under different management and chef. I have a membership at the MET... and couldn't book my usual reservation at The Balcony Lounge because they have kitchen renovations. So I booked a table at TheDining Room. The Dining Room is opened to members and non-members. We had food intolerances in my party. I mentioned theseintolerances when I booked our table. The host was very well aware upon our arrival. The waiter was very aware of what was safeto eat without cross contamination. You have choices! They are extremely good with people who have Celiac Disease. The chickenbreast with potato and corn was exquisite. It wasn't dry and the herbs levitated certain notes for my palette. The burger had athick patty and the fries were cut fresh by the kitchen. It's not frozen fries. The food did take quite a while to get there.Patrons need to realize that this is not your average museum food. I think the chef has been trained in French cuisine from theway my chicken breast had the drumette bone still intact. The ice cream was exquisite, one of the scoops had strawberry basil.Kudos to the pastry chef! As for the price point, this is at the Met in Manhattan. My chicken dish was 27 dollars which I findfairly priced for the area, experience and good cuisine that isn't drenched in butter and salt. Their cappuccino was only for 5dollars. I don't see anyone paying less at Starbucks. At least I get to drink my coffee in a porcelain cup. I advise anyone togive The Dining Room a try. I will certainly be going back there. Read more

So we did the afternoon tea at the dining and it was not worth it. Presentation was sloppy. Food was under whelming for the... price and the teas are nothing special. The tea selection is harneys and son. If your a teas lover, u know u can purchase thatteas on amazon for so much less. I am very disappointed. Desserts were litterally the jam they served with the scones in amacroon and a tart shell. The reason for the 2 star is cause service was good. Read more

Overlooking Central Park, this place offers good food, good service and a nice selection of wines. However, it’s not what I... would call good cost performance. It feels a bit too expensive for what it offers. Read more
